This was a video I've been thinking about for awhile. I moved to San Luis Obispo (SLO), California two years ago, and over the past two years the city has rapidly expanded their top-notch bike facilities. While not to European standards, there are many separated bicycle lanes and paths that make using a bike feel very safe and, well, normal. I'm honestly excited to see how good the bike facilities here will get in the next few years.
Like I mentioned in the video, SLO has some built-in advantages: it's compact, sunny, wealthy, and a college town. But somebody has to help lead the way, and I honestly believe it's a better model for other cities than someplace in Europe.
I hope you enjoy this one!
