Weekly Update February 24th
Added 2021-02-24 12:53:31 +0000 UTCWhoop whoop whoop. Spring has sprung!!! Anyone else feeling a long overdue pep in their step with the novelty of sunshine? ( I dunno you’re probably not all on a mostly grey lil isle, so you might have different relationship to the seasons ) but boy what a difference the sun's rays make .
And the announcement that UK lockdown is ending June 21st too is pretty exciting (although when you think about it that’s actually mad, given we’ve been in this one alone since Decemeber, but hey, I guess a global pandemic is a great thing to shift your expectations amiright?)
Disobedient Bodies will be back this month with some fantastic takeovers, including African feminist praxis, Irish language treats, and contemporary Caribbean literature. Can’t wait to share it all with ya. Do reach out if its something you would like to get involved with too. You take over the Instagram account for the day, so great way to connect with a new audience. If you don’t have IG that’s fine as you can submit the content to me and I’ll post it for ya.
Edited book proofs went to print today and What White People Can Do Next, will be shortly out in the world. I’d forgotten how hugely stressful the process of copy editing and proofreading is, so am deeply relieved its now gone to print ! The book is driven by my desire to decolonize ‘anti-racism” and full of surprises from philosophy to psychedelics. I’ll run an in-conversation and open it up to patrons first if anyone feels like interviewing me later in the year. I did the same with DTMH last year and had a community member interview me about the book, which was really fun. I don’t know if any of you caught it, but same kinda thing again.
