This is happening tomorrow night 7-8pm if ye fancy it.
Keynote from Professor Stevenson
who is 'hailed by Desmond Tutu as "America's Mandela", Professor Stevenson has devoted his life to fighting injustice, racism and discrimination in America. He is the founder of Equal Justice Initiative, a human rights organisation which has won major challenges eliminating excessive and unfair sentencing, exonerating innocent prisoners and aiding children prosecuted as adults. He and his staff have won relief or release for over 135 wrongly condemned prisoners on death row and for hundreds of others wrongly convicted or unfairly sentenced. His best-selling memoir, Just Mercy, documenting the work of the EJI, was acclaimed as one of the most influential books of the decade by CNN'.
This is followed by a panel, with myself, Frederick Douglass actual descendants (omfg) Nettie Washington Douglass and Kenneth B. Morris Jr., of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives; and Michael Collins, Chair of the John and Lillian Lewis Foundation and Pat & John Hume Foundation board member, Mark Durkan.
