Chapter 804 - Two Wyverns

Comments

I wonder if the Ruler of Lust left to go try and kidnap Biscuit.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat, I bet the Twins got some fuckery that they can only die if both die not one... Damn this chapter hits hard bro wtf

Sushitrash

Nope ur crazy the way he casually dropped it is amazing it’s so effortless it’s amazing

Broke Boy

I hope the dead twin somehow managed to not only share his start with the surviving one, but maybe also had a failsafe that transferred his consciousness too. And we'll have two twins sharing one body either temporarily or maybe even permanently. They were falling behind after all, and Nat did give us an explanation on how combined they could become OP. Now only gravity boy and Maya need to power up somehow. And Izzy needs to level up more. Her level is pathetically low for the current stakes.

Néstor Rocha

This should have been from Nat’s Pov. A random character casually describing a main character death feels lazy.

Zed

They just didn’t show the hardships in detail. They mentioned on passing how many times each lf them came close to dying more than every other floor. It’s been far from “lax”. They’ve gotten better at adapting and we. The reader don’t see their conflicts to move the story forward.

Chapter 726: (Nat facing Hornless Demon) "The first thing I feel hearing that is anger. More blood gushes from my wound as I tense my body, and for the shortest moment, *the black orb floating above us halts, almost as if it’s listening to something. A thinnest thread of mana reaches out of it toward me*, looking like a spider thread trying to escape a whirlpool. Then the moment passes, and the thread disappears back into the hungry black orb that continues devouring anew. I cough and feel more blood fill my mouth." This chapter: "He should rely on his black mana more, allow it into his body, and let it turn him into a monster, hopefully just as powerful as the Empyrean Thaumarch once was." I think he almost did what Kindness described back when he was on that beyond quest on minion's world. I don't know or remember the difference between "allow[ing] it into his body" and him using the black mana in conjunction with skills like Focus, but from the looks of it, when it happened during his faceoff with the hornless demon, it was the black mana acting on its own and reaching out towards nat and reacting to his anger, rather than Nat consciously using it to power his mind/focus.

I think this had to have happened at some point. I'm not saying they became "soft", but while you can never underestimate the tutorial floors, I would say they had an easier time on floor 9 compared to the previous floors. Nat himself likes to reflect on how interesting/weird it is that fighting and fearing for their lives in an alien setting has become the new norm. And floor 9's objective? To survive for a year, which meant there was no way to rush it. And while Min Jae did tell Nat (while they were catching up after Nat returned from the beyond) that all of them have had at least a couple of near-death experiences throughout the year on the floor, I would say they weren't in an sort of *true* danger until towards the end of the floor. Through living an entire year on the same floor and maybe falling into a sort of routine, they might have gotten a bit complacent. Group 4 is strong, VERY strong, the strongest group on earth , they get along extremely well and have the right mindset of always expecting shit to hit the fan, but I think no matter how much they tell themselves that the danger is there and *know* that death is very much real, at the end of the day, half of them are teenagers, and the oldest of them is maya at what? around mid to late twenties? Although they never outright underestimate the floors, to me they sometimes come off as overconfident and too lax while trying to complete the quests. Even though I have to admit that their approach to doing things has worked so far, floor 10's end will be a good reminder for them to maybe lock in a bit more as the floors will only get harder.

What people complaining about Biscuit fail to realise is that we often get explanations or reveals in later chapters. Cerim masters the art of revealing crucial info in bits through the story. He has never failed to provide solid reasons for powers that may seem OP at first glance. I have never been disappointed since the start and have full confidence in the rest of the story. Hell, this may be the best book I have read in this category so far to this date.

AL

Which one of the twins died? >:( shit got me tearin up !!

Vinnie

On another topic, what do we think? Is spider lady secretly a ruler? Perhaps a disguise Ruby doesn't know

Nemesis

I am thinking Nat is going to go through some self recrimination, accusing himself of taking it too easy lately and resolving to once again accelerate the rate he is 'running downhill'
