Zaphira: how do your sisters feel about Shen?

So Zaphira said that she became queen mostly because she was the one to fulfill the prophecy. Does that mean she was not born into royalty (I'm not sure how cannon the thing with her sisters is)? What would have happened if things had been the opposite: Shen being recognized as the bearer of the key since he was little but none knowing about who Zaphira was?
