The Dark Tower

Hi guys! What would you say to another movie opinion from me? :)

I’ve just seen another new movie, it was „The Black Tower” based on the books by Stephen King. And I must say I totally enjoyed it. I didn’t really read the books, so I can’t compare it. But we have them, and my husband has read them, so I’ll start to read them sometimes for sure. The film was a positive experience for me, but somehow I felt it was too short. I mean, maybe the closure was a little quick, and they could have added an extra half an hour to the film, because it was like 90 minutes long. 

I’d like to highlight a few specific things I liked the most:

There were a lot of good action scenes, and it was an eye candy for me how the protagonist used his gun and reload it all the time. The characters weren’t superficial at all, and there wasn’t any conflict based on a little misunderstanding (Actually, these are the first two things I usually worry about in EVERY film). The story was brief but comprehensive in many respects. Personally, I liked it this way. 

The only negative (I don’t mean it a really bad sense), is that the ending was short. It was okay, but maybe too short. Everything happened that should have happen, but I wouldn’t mind at all a little more exposition, and a little more action to make me feel, yeah, THAT was an epic final fight where I can feel the fulfillment of the protagonist’s fate, and feel the absolute tension. I felt like the final fight did not include the best scenes. Something wasn’t complete. But the conclusion was what I expect, and I wasn’t disappointed in the end.  

I think that’s all I could say about the film. Personally I recommend it if you’d like to see an awesome fantasy! Full of action, likeable characters, cool story. I heard many Black Tower fans didn’t like the movie, and that’s one of the reason I want to read the book(s), to make my own opinion.
