Added 2022-07-12 05:11:44 +0000 UTCStarted on 6/11 and finished on 7/11, over 100h of work with nearly 400 layers. Quite the project! I'm still not as good as some of our partner artists, but I'm feeling good about this as being the beginning of a new chapter in my creative journey. Hopefully I'll be able to not only get faster, but improve my skills faster as well! Now that this is done though, it's time for studies and smaller works. There will be more in the future though!
This was supposed to be a character study for the eventual modeling up of the female Nephilim Void Knight, but it kind of turned into a big scene/key art piece. This kind of action is rather indicative of Mercy's Reach frontier protection, having to cover a ~20 light year sphere of influence, and with limited resources, elite teams like this are dispatched to patrol worlds for weeks at a time. Between the advanced cybernetics and bioengineering that reduce their needs and increase survivability, whatever civilization there is, or ruins there of, can easily provide for these soldiers.
