The Fate! - Year One

During summer of the year 2018 we first talked about the possibility of creating our own comics. We took this idea seriously on October, 9 and on October, 12 the work started.

Official launch of "The Fate!" happened on December, 1, 2018

We were a tiny comics with almost no subscribers. The first month was pretty active, but then troubles happened. In January Airis had to move out and this was absolutely not planned. I had to fight on my own, trying to earn money for living. And then my younger brother lost his job and didn't really care to find another one.

But I kept fighting and had to work both on commissions and my comics. In May my brother moved to another city because of his great ideas of his great business. In the end of July he called begging to take him back home. And that cost our family pretty much. YumiCH lost her favorite cat and things were getting more and more depressive. I almost gave up in August, got another nervous breakdown, but finally got though. Since September I was working hard to finish all my commissions and form a proper schedule. And I could have done this in October, but I finished Chapter 3 and started extra story, which wasn't the smartest idea.

However, this year was mostly possible because of you, dear patrons. Alas, money is the main reason I yet can't draw this story every day. But thanks to you I am closer and closer to this. 

This year I've learnt many important things not only about art but also about marketing and socializing. I've tried different ways of advertising and sometimes just lost money for nothing because of making wrong decisions. But now I'm more experienced and more confident.

Year two is going to be much stronger. First of all I want do develop my Patreon and stick to schedule I'm still struggling with. Possibly I will experiment with extras and specials, because my aim is to keep drawing what I like but please my patrons and leave them choice of what they want to see. 

Most of all I want my Patreon to be at least 1 chapter (which is about 30 pages) ahead, This is going to be really hard but this is what I'm looking forward to achieve next year.

We hit the $100/per month goal for a while but then lost it, so I guess it's a bit early to celebrate. However, I already want to make some spoilers.

First of all I will clean up my patreon after YumiCH passes her exams (I'm helping her with her studies, so it takes much of my time). After them I will reorganize the main page and possibly some of the hashtags. 

Then I will find and translate all the old archives of "The Fate!" that were drawn during 2017-2018. Some of them are on my FurAffinity, but that's the least part. For example there are at least two short comics about Shelby that explain how he has become a teacher and how he got his aichmophobia (fear of sharp things). 

And finally, the reorganized patreon will have changed goals. My current goals are a bit selfish. Well, they have a reason and my own goals will remain my own goals. But your reward will change.

When "The Fate!" patreon achieves $500 goal, YumiCH will join the project and start developing our own visual novel. Most likely this will be backstory of Lein and James couple. I will take part in novel's developing, but this is going to be mostly YumiCH'es work, while mine is going to stay comics drawing.
