iOS app fees
Added 2024-08-12 17:06:41 +0000 UTCI just got a message from Patreon letting me know that new members will be charged an extra 30% starting in November if they join through the iOS app. The obvious answer to this is to subscribe to anyone you like through the Patreon website, and then use the app to view their content. I really don't want anyone to be tricked by this, so please know that I am not changing my prices. If you see an increased rate, it's the iOS store pulling shenanigans.

I admit I'm Android all the way. It irks me that they're using iPads in school, because it's pushing whole families to move to Apple so that their children's devices will sync.

2024-08-12 17:33:29 +0000 UTCyeah, apparently it's a thing that's been forced on Patreon by Apple wanting a piece of the money pie (like they really need smh), but then cascaded down into Patreon forcing the new version of payment scheduling on all creators who haven't switched yet. Pretty sure you're already on the new payment scheduling version, so you don't have to talk about that.
