New Artwork - Early Access ✨

Hello friends, how are you doing?

I just finished a new painting (which puts me at 3 this month, yay) and I must say I loved working on it so much! I went absolutely crazy with all the details but they didn't feel like a chore at all. I painted everything as lovingly as I could.

The scene is heavily inspired by a house located in Karuizawa, Japan. I sometimes take virtual tours through different towns on Google Street View and save images of locations I find interesting. This one screamed "witchy" to me, so my idea was to turn it into a little shop owned by an old woman. (Btw, Karuizawa is such a beautiful place and I would really love to go there in person some day. And I've been studying Japanese a lot and watching Terrace House with Japanese subtitles. 😂)

Buuut back to the painting: Like the previous pieces, I will turn this into a mini series. She's going to get a customer. 😊

I hope you like it! And if you have a title suggestion, I'm all ears.

Thank you so much!!

definitely one of-if, not my favourite pieces you've created Djamila!

That's a good question. I just take the structural information and apply it to a new, more realistic perspective grid. Basically just making everything straighter and getting rid of some of the extreme angles.

Too much beautiful, as always! How do you deal with lens distorsion and horizon line when you look for images en street view, Djamila? It's something I find difficult to "translate" at the beggining of the sketch.
