Possible Changes? Feedback, Please! :)
Added 2017-01-21 10:07:28 +0000 UTCLet me pose the important questions first and then go on explaining what this is all about.
1. Are you supporting me on Patreon because of...
A - My art in general
B - This specific project
C - Both
2. How would you feel about me changing the content to my artwork in general and not only the Phantasma project? (similar to what Atey Ghailan is doing)
I've been forced to make a few very difficult and bold decisions in the last couple of months. Pulling away from freelance work since the beginning of 2017 has put me in a position where I can make a lot more art for myself that I'm able to immediately share with people. But it also forces me to be more creative with how I get my income. I've mainly been focusing on my online store. I'm making and selling prints and little original ink drawings. But all of that stuff has nothing to do with the Phantasma project, so I didn't share it with you.
If you were ok with me broadening the scope of my Patreon to my artwork in general, I could share a lot more stuff with you and provide more and better reward tiers. That doesn't mean that I won't be working on Phantasma anymore. It just means that I'll be able to approach everything more freely and organcially without forcing myself to squeeze in a little bit of content for each of my projects every month. I'm much better at focusing on something over a long period of time without interruption.
Tarot Deck project?
I've also been toying with the idea of making a tarot deck. Now that I can basically do whatever I want, I'd like to work on a larger, more elaborate project with artwork that lends itself well to prints. So a tarot seems to be a perfect fit. The imagery is going to be closely related to what I've stablished for Phantasma so far, so it's going to fit right in. And there will be a steady stream of new artwork from my side and not just the occasional illustration here and there!
New possible rewards
With each tarot card (or other illustration), I'll be able to make prints and provide all the steps, psd files and all that stuff to you guys. If there's interest, I could also introduce a permanent 10% discount at my store to one of the reward tiers or provide copies of signed limited edition prints minus shipping costs. I could also add a monthly raffle to one of the reward tiers where I give away one of those little original ink drawings that I've been making. And of course, once I hit the $150 goal, I can start making timelapse videos of the drawing process.
As you can see, there are so many options that I could explore. What do you think about this?
I'd be really happy to hear your opinions. :)
Thanks so much for everything!

2017-01-23 20:22:00 +0000 UTCYou are just the best! After reading all the nice and encouraging comments, I'm pretty confident in making those changes. I'll restructure the site in the next couple of days and share a lot more art with you! Also, I'll get started on that tarot deck when I return from Japan at the beginning of March. Being there is going to give me a lot of time to come up with ideas and concepts. There's probably going to be inspiring stuff everyhwere. I can't wait! :)

2017-01-22 17:46:16 +0000 UTCThank you so much! The themes that I love are definitely going to be a part of the tarot deck as well. Without having to worry about clients and their expectations I can infuse as much of my personal style and voice as I want. That is so exciting and I can't wait to make a ton of new artwork!

2017-01-22 17:33:40 +0000 UTCHi Djamila! I go for C. I am very enthusiastic about Phantasma because for me that project means more of the kind of art / themes that I love in your work in general :) So I would be more than happy to keep supporting your patreon with more diverse content. If you do what you truly wish to do, I'm sure it'll be rewarding for all of us in terms of cool new art :) Good luck with the decision making process!

2017-01-21 21:14:30 +0000 UTCHi Djamila! I've been a huge fan of your work for some time and when I came across your Patreon and Phantasma project - not only did it inspire me to *finally* start working on my own personal project, but I felt that I wanted to support you and your art so that I could continue being immersed in your world. I’m here because I love seeing what you create whether it’s for Phantasma or other artwork. Furthermore, if you wanted to do something like a tarot deck, I think that would be really fantastic. I would also love for you to reach your $150 goal - seeing your time-lapse videos would be awesome! I’d love to see your process.

2017-01-21 15:15:36 +0000 UTCI pledged for you for your art in general. But I really like your phantasma project too and that tarot card project sounds awesome! More variety is always great I think.

2017-01-21 11:03:49 +0000 UTCHiya! My take on this would be: 1. C. 2. The more art the better. I'd love to see you put together a Tarot deck. I think you should proceed as your heart and creativity dictates you.
