Hey, inferno. I've always dreamed of being able to fly a vehicle on c20/the library. But that halo dev kit doesn't work on windows 10. And there's no tutorial on how to use invader to do it with MCCCEA. So i looked to this mod. And for some reason. No matter how many d20 grenades i throw. On game_speed 10, with cheat_infinite_ammo and cheat_deathless_player. I cannot seem to get any flappy banshees or normal warthogs to spawn. Is there a cheat code that will spawn one for me? Are these tags not in c20? Or do i just have to keep rolling the dice until i get what i want? Because i've filled that entire glowing hole thing full of trees, speens, and hoglets. But there's no flappy banshees or normal warthogs down there.

Is Cursed_Derelict a troll? :P I'm running it in MCC and it's the only map that seems untouched. Even my MCC skins load on it for whatever reason. All the other maps work fine.

Just installed and started playing the mod, having a great time with it! Just one problem, the bullet decals aren't working. The Super Soaker sprays invisible water, the Assault Rifle gives no visual feedback and most of the plasma weapons don't have the correct bullet decals: the Doom plasma rifle just shoots barely visible plasma rifle bullets, the magical girl gun shoots the same but pink, and the regular plasma pistol has invisible bullets. How do I go about fixing this?

I ended up finding something in a discord noted on the troubleshooting link and found that someone figured out a fix early this year. I did what they did, deleting hac.dll and it worked. Can still alter fov as well. Thanks though! Love the mod!!!

Just remove HAC. It's mainly in the mod for FOV changing so you can just use a different FOV changer mod. Delete loader.dll from the controls folder.

The cursed multiplayer maps are at the bottom of the list with a different name than the original maps. For the singleplayer make sure you replaced the original ui.map file with the modified one from the mod.

I doubt it, Halo Custom Edition is more multiplayer than campaign so it gets rid of the campaign option. Just download the better GUI that's on this patreon post.

You don't need to do anything fancy other than backup your mods folder. Just copy and paste the non-cursed maps somewhere easily accessible then replace all the maps with cursed edition maps. For the enhanced menu, just place that in the map folder too because it's ui.map which is a map file.

Sometimes when I play it now, the game uses the multiplayer grenades instead of the D20. I have no idea to fix it and it randomly fixes itself and then uses the multiplayer grenades again

Make sure you updated the game properly to the newest version. If that doesn't solve the problem you need to remove HAC2 by deleting the loader.dll from controls. HAC2 provides a few fixes, most notable is the FOV changer.

So... i got everything working and cursed working well... but how do i do Multiplayer with it? Do i continue what ive been doing and copy all the gamefiles and whatnot onto a USB and try running it like normal CE from there? ALSO, i have a complaint... why only 2 D20 frags? why not 4? balancing? well, id like to have more single player fun...

Halo is locked to 30fps by default. There is a mod called Chimera that will allow higher FPS though. It's not compatible with the HAC2 addon though.

It sounds like you copied the mod files into the wrong place. Make sure the "maps" folder for the game actually contains all the cursed-maps

If you are trying to join by connecting though localhost maybe try using the server browser or an external IP instead. Also, try making the port for the game and the server differnt, as I've had some minor issues with that in the past. And of course, make sure you are using SAPP instead of the default server.

try going into properties and selecting "run as admin" or "allow administrator privleges".. dont hit the "run as admin" that you encounter immediately after rightclicking, you have to enter properties first.. hope that helps

I've done everything correctly - download game, then patch, then the mod itself, run the game once before patch, then once before adding the mod, then once with the mod. I'm still unable to get into the maps. When I try to open with the halo +console.bat, it just opens a command prompt really fast then closes and leaves nothing. try using troubleshooter.. (right click on halo CE and click "Compatibility Troubleshooter" and I'm sure you'll figure the rest). the reason you're having this problem is cause of its age and intended OS.. game devs back in day assumed you were always admin and allotted their game that way.. so it often becomes a problem in newer releases.

Did you have to use a modified version of tool to be able to compile sidewinder? Just trying to compile it from your tags its slightly over size and wont build with normal tool. Hi. So I got the message saying that I can't run without administrator privileges so I deleted the loader.dll file and now it asks me if I want to allow haloce.exe to make changes to my computer. I click yes and nothing happens. I'm not sure how to fix this.

That's fairly odd, maybe try downloading the mod again. If that doesnt work then go download a ui.map replacement from halomaps.org. There are a ton of different ones there that would be fine.

Extract the .zip file of the mod, then open the folder that you installed the game to and drag the modded files into and it will overwrite some stuff. The default place the game installs to is C:\Program Files(X86)\Microsoft Games\Halo from what I can remember.

Hi Inferno. I recently got this game for my brother and it doesn't seem to work. At first when we opened it, it worked, floppy sniper rifles and all; but now people just stand still and nothing cursed is happening. No floppy sniper rifles, no flappy banshees and no gun weirdness. I'm really at a loss here. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it.

So i'm running into a few problems 1. The game keeps crashing and saying a message with the word exception 2. For some reason when i try to open up multiplayer and join a friend internet game, it says (could not contact the gamespy master servers) dunno why this keeps happening, and it doesn't seem to fix when I try messing around with gamespy or the game console, anyone know how I could fix these problems.

Campaign mods for Halo are never compatible, but multiplayer mods are. You can just remove all the single player maps (a10 a30 a50 b30 etc...) and leave the multiplayer stuff in.

This is Halo: Custom Edition, which is required for modding and doesn't officially support the campaign. To play campaign missions, you'll have to follow the instructions in this post to skip to a specific level. Should work fine after that though.

I can't really just distribute the entire game on it's own because of legal reasons. As for the issue you are having, try removing HAC2 as it doesn't seem to work on some peoples computers. Just delete the file called "loader.dll" thats in the controls folder.

A had an idea that would benefit anyone having issues installing the mod. If you were to give us a download of Halo CE with the mod already installed, then there would be zero possibility for someone who is uninitiated to modding to incorrectly install the mod. Think of it as a "quality of life" fix. Not only will be simpler but there wouldn't need to be an explanation since the work is already been done beforehand.

The maps contain the entire mod. Halo packages each map with everything in it. Can't really help you as "broke everything" is very unspecific.

Tried installing the mod. it just broke everything. It seems like there is content missing from the mod file linked above. Sure we have the maps folder given to us onece we unzip the file "cursed_halo_v1.0.3" but where are the other "content" files, ones which modify the vehicle and weapon parameters? It seems like they aren't even included. Myself and several others would really appreciate it if you would link the complete cursed halo mod (not just bits and pieces of it). An improved explanation on how to install the mod, maybe through a you tube video, would be very helpful to the less inclined. Telling us to "drop" the files in doesn't really help nor does it seem to work either. Sorry for being very direct, but i need to say it like this to get my point across. You must have spent a significant amount of time created this wonderful mod, its such a shame that many of us can't play it simply because content is missing and there is a lack of information when it comes to installing it.

Everything worked, for me, the guns, the maps the campaign, everything except the projectiles. I dont know why but whenever i shoot i dont have anything come out, its most noticable for the water gun and the pixel plasma rifle

Nevermind, it seems I must have caused a sequence break by speeding through the level with the hoglet. I restarted and everything went fine... darn I was having fun on that hoglet too.

I've encountered a bug. On the library level near the end (I believe) guilty spark doesn't open one of the big doors and flies into it as if he was trying to continue. He is not performing one of his scripted sequences and I'm unsure why he is bugging out.

Hello, I just finished downloading halo CE and the HAC2 patch to fix FOV issue. I also downloaded the cursed halo mod, but i am not sure where to put the files. Also, I am not sure what "halo + console.bat" and "halo + window.bat" are. Im also not sure what strings.dll is supposed to do, in the "readme.txt" it says strings.dll is supposed to fix something, my game runs fine, do i need the strings.dll file?

I installed halo ce and the patch successfully and switched the ui.map out with the one from the mod, the campaign option showed up on the main menu and I get to the 'selet difficulty' menu but I cant get any further than that.

I wanted to play this mod in the campaign and watch the fuckery ensue but the campaign mode isnt showing up. As you can probably tell I am not very well versed when it comes to this stuff. i dropped the mod straight into the directory and replaced the files and the Halo: CE was working fine before that but when i try to load i get the opening menu screen and than it crashes and comes up with file errors try re-installing the game and ive gone through and uninstalled and re-installed everything in the correct order and it still happens

Got it to work now, had to delete the hac2 folder, the loader. Dll, download an fixed launcher of halo ce (dont got the link right now) run it in combatability moda aaaand had to switch the framelock to vsynch and now it works somehow... To be honest idk why or how cuz my pc shouldent be the problem but it still crashed here and there but when i run it in administrator mod it works just fine

For anyone who is getting HAC 2 Error 193, try deleting the whole HAC2 folder in C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\. For me, hac.dll inside there was 0 bytes in size, so it wouldn't load. Deleting the whole folder and opening the game again forced all the DLLs in that folder to re-download, and fixed it for me.

That's very odd. I think you can fix the respawn bug by locking the game to 30fps or using vsync. Not sure about the voices though. Maybe try looking at the settings for sound and changing those.

When you installed the mod you either copied teh files to the wrong place or didn't overwrite the original main menu file. Make sure you use the ui.map file from the mod and not the one that the game came with.

If you don't see the Campaign option you may have copied the mod into the wrong folder or failed to overwrite the original map file when you did. Make sure you take the ui.map file from my mod and overwrite the ui.map that came with the base game.

So I think I figured it out. When you install Halo CE initially, just install to the default directory and do everything else from there. You can move the mod after that. When you try and install it somewhere else, it doesn't install everything correctly and messes HAC and other stuff up. In addition, go to the troubleshooting link and download and install the fixed stuff.

I saw a playthrough with this mod by another youtuber, and noticed that the cutscenes were incredibly cursed. But when i play, my cutscenes are *normal*. Does your mod have cursed cutscenes in it for campaign?

The 2D sprite projectiles for both the heart plasma pistol and the plamsa rifle don't show up. They're just tiny glowing dots instead. I do get a Fail Fast Exception after I close the game, so I'm guessing that may have something to do with it. Not sure how i'd go around fixing this issue, it's not game breaking but it'd be nice to have them in-game

Same thing here. I've tried looking at an install tutorial and other comments that ask about the same situation. The thing I've found that is missing for me is a folder labeled "halo cursed edition". It included all the controls, shaders and such. It's an issue with the install for the mod pack itself.

Remove the loader.dll from the controls folder. This will remove HAC2. If the game works after that go download HAC2 or Chimera from their websites and install either of those. HAC2 is mainly used to change the FOV of the game because the default FOV is very very small.

No unfortunately. I didn't know that was an issue as my testers who played through on legendary didn't mention that. I did give keyes a lot more health and regenerating health though so hopefully it shouldn't be too bad.

Read through the hosting guide above to learn how to setup a dedicated server. Unless you and your friends have real retail CD keys for the game, you wont' be able to play online with the ingame hosting. Dedicated servers can have the CD Key check turned off though.

I figured it out. It was windows trying to keep halo from connecting to the internet. My fix was that I removed loader.dll from controls, launched the game and started a lan which prompted windows to ask if it could be let thru the firewall. After that I put loader.dll back and it works fine. Also, does the new version shrink the bitcrushed plasma rifle's bolts? The part where you escort keyes out of the covenant cruiser has the marines all loaded with them and they keep killing keyes with friendly fire.

If you only want to play single player, you can reinstall halo custom edition then only add the modded maps folder to halo custom edition.

Deleting loader.dll from controls fixes the error most of you will have after blindly following setup instructions. However, I have yet to find if there are any unwanted consequences to deleting it, so be weary. If I had to guess, HAC2 is incompatible with Windows 10, just a guess.

I was having the same HAC error even with an antivirus exception. I found that just downloading the newest loader.dll from the Halo Anticheat 2 site and swapping for the one in this pack fixed it.

thanks! i was actually able to load the mops and the whole campain. only thing wrong is a couple weapons projectiles are lost like the heart plasma pistol and the doom plasma rifle. other then that its all there and its on the same launcher as spv sence spv has a option to go to classic compain you just click that and it goes to the cursed on..,.

I cant connect to my server when i have sapp set up, just retrys for some time and stops. sometimes it gives me the invalid cd key one, but most of the time its just a basic unable to join game one, and sometimes my server shows up in lan only. what could i be doing wrong

I tried it again and it turns out the black screen is actually the main menu that only be navigated blindly with the arrow keys, esc and enter with no mouse cursor. When I try to start a campaign map, it goes to the desktop and a pop-up window appears that says "gathering exception data" then it crashes. Weird.

Any advice on a black screen after starting the game? It will start like normal with the halo ring splash screen, then go to a black screen that is playing the normal main menu music. If I hit enter, it takes me to a black screen with campaign difficulty selection I then hit enter again and the game crashes. Am I missing something?
