To avoid this, we must gatekeep everything, do not protect anime against tourist, say that it is true, its a kid's cartoon sure, its bad and unproductive. Every entertainment's quality started to fall as soon people started to talk about it on the mainstream.

There's no reactor other than Khan that goes out of his way to avoid spoilers has much has him(No social media other than youtube, no twitter,tiktok,no discord,sub only twitch,barely looks at patreon comments and etc). Even the mods are the one linking him the episode so that he can avoid interacting with site that could potentially spoil him. Were not the ones who scares him from spoiler. Khan from the get go is scared of them and hates them for obvious reason. Him avoiding the manga literally makes him interact less with his community.Khan gets less enjoyment from things he watches/reads if gets spoiled. If you look at most shows that khan dropped in the past was because he got spoiled. +Khan enjoys the manga has much as the anime and the reason we know this is from him reacting to the manga saying that it was better than the anime when the anime was already going hard.

There will be literally NO ESCAPE once the One Piece is finally revealed. There will be billboards and news articles about it for MONTHS if not years since the series has been making it's way into the front of Pop-Culture: The Lakers, the Las Vegas Sphere, etc. And thats only now in 2025. Around 2030 when the series ends, anyone who's never read or heard about One Piece: even they will be spoiled. Think back to the time when Gear 4 and other Dressrosa moments were spoiled to him when he was just chilling with his kids in public. He stopped live reacting to the anime for a dozen episodes. So imagine him getting spoiled on THE BIGGEST REVEAL. You think he's just gonna stop live reacting to it for a while again? Nahhh he's full on dropping it like he did AOT. Arguably the best method to consume One Piece would be what some people have suggested already: read the manga AND watch the anime. There's a 1.5 year gap in between the mediums and he clearly still enjoys the anime despite knowing a lot of what happens next. Now some people will read that last sentence and go "well since you said that, then that means spoilers won't be a big deal right??Because he's still enjoying the anime even though he knows what's gonna happen." No, that is NOT the same. He's able to enjoy it since he got to experience those moments for the FIRST TIME reading the manga. The key word being "experience". The thrill the audience gets when they have all these hints and clues about a story in the back of their head, and then a single moment happens where they all just "click" into place is one of the most satisfying feelings and is a HUGE part of storytelling. Having someone describe to you what a roller-coaster feels like, and actually riding that roller-coaster is a very big difference. You cannot tell me those 2 things provide THE SAME amount of enjoyment.

Also One Piece is way way more mainstream than it was just three years ago, Luffy did a whole collaboration with the LA Lakers just a week ago and said LeBron went gear five. I really and truly hope you don't get spoiled if you do decide to stick with the anime, but seriously something could just pop up on the news or something one day. I support you though either way!

Ultimately, this is what it boils down to. You may not be in circles too much where you can be spoiled, but one single person can always ruin that. Obviously do what you enjoy the most, and both are great in their own right, but I feel like you're thinking of switching back to anime - precisely because you haven't been spoiled in a while? Let's say you were anime only right now, and someone spoiled Kuma for you tomorrow - would that change your mind and make you read the manga? If so, its not necessarily the anime experience you're after, but an unspoiled anime experience, and whether that will happen is anyone's guess. Just wanted to bit of a voice for the manga since everyone in the comments seems to be a voice for the anime.

But there’s no point in wondering after every well-animated episode whether he should just watch the anime or not. The manga is the author's very own source and the best representation of things. Toei often adds things, changes stuff around, and sometimes fans don't even realize it. There's also cover stories that most often never even get adapted but all count as a part of the main story. It's always up to you, but the anime isn't going anywhere and just as you enjoyed these Egghead episodes, you'll enjoy whatever you read in the future as well. But having a firsthand impression of the work directly from the author is important in my opinion. Rest it's all up to you and we'll always be here 🙏

The most selfish thing would be to let him just pick the anime only route and be alright with it, i couldnt care less if it was another series but it's One Piece. There are just too many negatives than positives staying anime only at this point. Mods are trying their hardest to help this man regarding spoilers and now i see people being like: "fuck it, if it happens it happens" What type of BS is that? Khan literally mentioned that he can be more free when he's caught up, dude can actually interact with his community, read comments and do streams without worries (would make things easier for the mods as well). Man has to constantly do a hide & seek after watching an episode, man can't even discuss things properly like theories, one of the beauties when it comes to this series.

Aint no way this destroys the excitement. It doesnt matter how good the anime is going, i would not risk any of that to get myself spoiled like that. We are at the final saga, this ain't the drum island arc. It's recency bias on Khan's side, when he was anime only it was the best thing ever, when he switched to manga, he said how manga was better. He returns, watch a bunch of anime episodes and now it's the anime again thats better. This is not a shot at Khan but fam was always like that. To me this is more of a logical thing to stick to manga, people suggesting that a spoiler every now and then would be "ok" as long as he sticks to anime can get my foot up their ass. Like why did we start manga in the first place? We had almost the same discussion back then when Khan was on the fence on trying out the manga and anime onlys would go ape shit. The series has maybe 3-4 years left (manga wise) at most i'd say, spoiler free for that long? Let's not pretend that the anime won't have any more breaks in the future, so we probably talking about 5-6 years to stay spoiler free. Just look at the past how that worked out, yea it didn't.

Plus picking up stuff in the anime you might miss out from the manga like Garp making ship fly and the shanks vs kid fight, overall making you understand the one piece story especially since you have anime to help you see how the manga panels flow
