2020-09-26 07:45:41 +0000 UTCThere is actually a comic book series about Kanan’s backstory that has 12 issues. It is canon and has no spoilers for Rebels. In fact, the flash forwards to Rebels take place during season one. There is actually a great dubbed audio comic of all 12 issues in order (it’s an hour and a half in all). If you want, I could send the link so you two could react to it. Or if you don’t have the time, just to watch it yourselves. It is a really great series and really explores Kanan’s past without spoiling anything.
