2024-05-06 23:23:07 +0000 UTCFirst I agree with almost everything you wrote, except for those three sentences : 1 - "The kids should really be in their last year of High School yet they're fighting planet level threats as first years still." 2 - "We see the #1 threat of the story in the first arc, we see the #1 hero in chapter 1. There's no mystery or world building /endrant" 1 - Actually right now in the anime, they should be second years, it's just that the school is closed and has been transformed into a shelter, because of what's going on in Japan. But they are second years. 2 - Yes we meet the number 1 Hero, in the first chapter. But Deku and All Might relationship is the cornerstone of the beginning of the story. Also we simply need All Might for the story to start, without him Deku would have remained quirkless. Furthermore in this society heroes are celebrities, everybody knows them, so it doesn't feel strange for him to appear this early in the story. All Might telling Deku that he can be a Hero, it's an iconic scene for MHA, you would have preferred for it not to happen ? We don't get to learn everything about All Might in season 1, and even himself doesn't know everything about his quirk or his nemesis All For One at this point. Finally we get to know from chapter 1 that he is past his prime in terms of power, so we know we haven't seen everything yet. About the nยฐ1 threat Shigaraki being introduced in the first season. I personally love that we have the Antagonist and the Protagonist growing and evolving at the same time. It makes Shigaraki more human, because we've been able to see his journey, his struggles, his wins, everything. That makes him more unique as a villain, than those who appear just for one arc or just at the end game. I personally believe that, if Khan, others and myself are this invested in Shigaraki, it's because he's been there from the beginning and we've witnessed his journey. Not every story needs to be as long as One Piece, because most story will not be as complex, and that's fine. In One Piece pirates travel around the world, and that's why the world building is needed. But in MHA the Heroes don't travel to other countries, except for really special cases. The story explains to us why we don't see other hero except than Star and Stripe, it's because there not allowed by their country. Of course as readers we would enjoy meeting more Heroes, but that wouldn't make any sense with the world building of Hero. Because this would lead to chaos in other country, where crime syndicate would use this opportunity, to do the same thing that is happening to Japan in other countries. About the "mistery" I don't know what you mean by that, there's a lot thing that are reaveled to us in each season, so there is mystery in MHA. But if you talk about a secret organization running the world without anyone knowing, or the poneglyph, yes there's not this sort of mistery in MHA. But in most story's there's not. Again One Piece is an exception, it has everything but it's 1 100 chapter long. You can't expect every story to be like this.

The story itself is always going plus ultra that it went by way too fast. The kids should really be in their last year of High School yet they're fighting planet level threats as first years still. Also, the world building for MHA's world could be so good yet the first we see anything outside of Japan its the #1 from the U.S.? Again, just speed running any interesting potential mystery (my biggest issue with the series). We see the #1 threat of the story in the first arc, we see the #1 hero in chapter 1.
