No one forgets their first guitar......Holly Blue update!

Hi Guys and Girls!

Here's a little video of Mummy C surprising Noah with his FIRST guitar!  

I (Laura) was a singer and acoustic guitarist for 25 years alongside being a fitness professional and yoga teacher....I played both internationally and at gigs/weddings all over the UK so sharing my passion for music with the boys is very rewarding.

THE LADS:

Both boys have been showing more interest in the arts recently.  Noah is particularly musical and artistic whilst Josh has a great flare for creative writing.  Notably Josh is also a bit of a mathematical genius (currently riding high at the level of an 11 year old - he is 9) thanks to the online app Doodlemaths which has been a revelation for English and Maths learning support on board. 

The boys have also been really enjoying new weekly science lessons with our friend Emily (check out the YouTube channel Two Get Lost or insta @twogetlost ).  Emily is a primary school teacher who sold up with her boyfriend and (similarly to us lot) left the rat race and set sail for their own never-ending adventure.....Emily is also a qualified Outdoor Crafts and Forest School teacher so they are super excited for Beach School this week!

Captain Ross has recently discovered a great football pitch in the village of Gourna so alongside the boys weekly Tennis Lessons and regular yoga with mum they are now enjoying Football lessons with dad!

DADDY C:

Ross has been working hard upgrading little niggles from last season on the boat....we are installing water filters which will turn our water tanks into drinkable tap water which means NO MORE trips to land to refill our huge water containers whilst on anchor...just another step towards being self-sufficient and also one step closer to Ross's dream of not having to touch land other than for beer (needless to say we're working on home-brew too haha).

Other improvements include AirPods Pro (HIGHLY recommended - the noise cancellation is incredible for living in high winds or for those who are sound-sensitive) unlimited wifi (our usage with uploads and schooling alone is phenominal) and LED strip under lighting which will make the mood even more atmospheric on anchor and is ultra-economical.  Holly is also getting a good waxing and will soon be lifted out for a good bum-scrub and a few other maintenance jobs.  I am NOT looking forward to going up and down the ladder with the boys or having no running water or toilets BUT the view will be a sunset to die for so watch out for THOSE shots!!  Small sacrifice....

Lastly the Cpt is looking forward to a taste of sailing this coming weekend with our friends Stefan And Marcel (insta @sailingaffairs) as he helps them sail to Artemis boat yard.....we are all expecting him to come back wide eyed and motivated to get us ship-shape to start the adventures again the moment travel restrictions are lifted!

MUMMY C:

I am enjoying the lighter evenings and 'more hours in the day' for not just the work but my favourite pursuits like yoga practise and walking....winter can be tough when trying to fit in downtime in darkness and there are many ways I manage Fibromyalgia with these kinds of lifestyle practises.

I am also busy keeping my Boat Fit group motivated with online education, monthly competitions and new recipe creations...this month I have created a recipe for healthy cheesecake!  I am also LOVING training the captain as he try's to get rid of his lockdown-love handles!  I'm also keeping it real and balanced with the creation of 8 litres of homemade gin! (another way of not having to touch land so often when sailing).
