I'd heard this from you before in a previous video, but it's always good to have the lesson reinforced. It's probably one of the top 5 most valuable. If you want to have any sort of relationship with a Japanese person, then this is required learning. I have a friend in Yokohama with whom often correspond. I've seen her twice when I've been down there, and entertained her up here in Montreal. I helped her daughter to some small degree by giving her direction in her career path. They have always been grateful to me. However, last year I made the grievous error of trying to coax my friend into telling me what was troubling her, as she was extremely upset at her daughter. Well... that ended about as well as you might expect. She got pretty cross with me. However, as far as I can see things seem to be back to normal, now. I've been treading carefully, not pushing too hard, letting time heal, and ALWAYS keeping in mind what you've said on the subject. In fact, I've also employed a few other strategies I've picked up from your vids, as well (ie, making a big fuss about certain things in the vein of "Eee sugoi, ne!", etc.) We've had quite a lively exchange this week, with her sharing some videos she's discovered online, our spirited commentary on them, and just carrying on as usual. Oh, I'm sure she's in no way forgotten. But I think at least we're cool, now. I've got to thank you for that one, as well. Your videos are ThE dUcT tApE tHaT hAs PaTcHeD mY fRiEnDsHiP. ;-))
