Thank you for what's surely one of the most difficult posts you've ever done. Only a person utterly and totally without family or friendship connections in this would could choose this exit without leaving behind a horrid legacy of lasting pain and grief. Yet there seems now a trend to normalize, romanticize, even glorify suicide, seen everywhere from social media to retailer's adverts. Unspeakably sad and poisonous. Condolences to you and all close to your late friend.

I knew him for 40 years, Kieran. He regularly had issues and I suspected he would do this one day... sad.

I'm glad i didn't cause any offense and i don't know if your friend was dealing with depression/mental health stuff but if he did i can strongly sympathize.. it is honestly one of the most terrible things to suffer which is why i've personally come to refer to it as 'mind cancer'.

Suicide is only painless for the deceased. Condolences, my friend.

While it is selfish, i can't blame someone for taking their own life personally. In my own personal experiences i can understand what can bring someone to do that .. hell if i wasn't a coward i would of gone thru with it myself .. hell i made a rather pitiful attempt in my high school years. I apologize if this came off the wrong way.
