Small Awning Job at the Old Japanese Farm House

Yep, working on the cave! :-D

I tell you, these projects hit on the caveman living inside every dude. You started life at the farmhouse with an entire TREASURE TROVE of useable material. After the initial sorting, you stockpiled all of goods you wanted to keep - both tools and building material - and disposed of the rest. (Sorting & stockpiling: Gooood.) THEN, through the years, you worked your way through the supply of material to both improve the farmhouse, and gain extra living space in the process. (Improvement: Gooood! Extra living space: GOOOOOD!) It's primal! (This is why I still cannot get past the pain of seeing that poor lumber that gave its life to that brand new house that was built in the neighbourhood, and then immediately torn down due to someone's error. Oh, what that lumber could have built. Those brand new beams, broken and in splinters... Tragic.)
