End of Year Yapping

Hey there! This my yearly recap for 2025. For more visibility, I'm posting it here, as well, not just on Discord. This was just my second full year of making art. I posted my yearly statistics on Discord, don't know if it is appropriate to do here.

I made a lot of assets during the year, some important ones like the chastity set or the ballets heels, each have been updated quite a bit and I still have some more improvements in mind.

I'm currently working on some good chains and where there are chains, we need some cuffs and collars, too. I've got a couple of ideas, I still don't have every basic item that I want. For an environment, I want to make a cool dungeon hall with multiple areas. Something that could fit multiple characters so I can use it more often.

I haven't gotten around to making an original character, yet, maybe this year. I mainly need some good hair and Blender does have a system for hair that I want to try and maybe make a geometry setup for anime style hair. That could be very useful.

For artwork, there are still some projects open, like the 'Witch from Mercury' project, or the one I talked about in the 2024 recap, or some in the requests channel, heh. I like to spend lots of time on the 3D assets, which makes sense for quality, but causes some slowness in actually making artworks. However, I can imagine that I will have a good amount of assets at some point, so more art is possible. Some of the most complicated assets have been done now, but we'll see.

I did built my new PC which has been a huge help (using Arch Linux, btw).

Software-wise I'm currently a bit stuck on Blender 4.4.1 the NPR Prototype, which works for me, but I'd say not everyone would like to use an experimental Blender version. It's a bit of an unfortunate situation right now, but development is slowly ongoing to implement NPR features in official Blender. I don't know how long that is going to take, though. You can check some of the progress here: https://devtalk.blender.org/t/npr-project-multi-stage-compositing/40758/60

You can download the NPR Prototype for use with my assets here: https://github.com/pragma37/Blender-NPR-Prototype/releases/tag/npr-prototype-blender-4.4.1

Some plans for the near future:

- Smaller art projects to get some more quantity for now.

- New chain gen system (looking good already).

- Improve character face shading for ease of use (nearly done).

- Focus on existing assets.

- A more standard platform high heel boots model and heelless variants for the ballet heels?

- New dildo system (drill shaped?).

- Update chastity set some more (dildo, chains, keys).

- Cuffs, collar.

- Dungeon hall environment.

- Cool hair gen system?

That's about it, I'm very happy with my progress, quality has massively improved.

Finally, if you want to try your hand at making similar art, I'm always looking to teach some more people, for free of course without obligations. To me, it's super fun and I love to chat with people. I have noticed that there is a lack of guidance on many things in Blender and with new features coming out, there is a lot of unexplored territory. So if you are interested in taking up Blender, write in #blender-chat on my Discord server or DM me, it's not an insurmountable challenge to learn Blender and have lots of fun on the way.

Thank you very much for your support, it's a huge help for me! I wouldn't be able to spend so much time on this otherwise.

Aye, that's enough yapping, back to the Blender cave I go.
