More Polite Than Friendly in Japan

Just some observations! Thanks for your encouragement and support!

While being polite and maintaining harmony are great aspirations, it can also be damaging to the society. This has been discussed in previous videos, but big issues remain unsolved, if people don't want to talk about them. We can already see that with the pace that Japan changes in; very slowly. If essentially all interactions and intentions are left to human interpretation, errors WILL concur, as was mentioned in the video; even Japanese people don't know at times what people really mean! It is admirable, that their society wants to live a peaceful life in harmony with others, but what cost does that come with? What will or will not happen, if people are too afraid to rock the boat? I'm sure you guys have thought about this, and I think even these "professional actors" are aware. We just never - or VERY rarely - know about it. Heck, some of the effects are already visible, as can be perceived from the suicide statistics. But at least this sheds some light on why even the government doesn't seem to want to rock the boat, as was discussed in a few videos some time ago. Having watched a lot of these videos already, none of this surprises me anymore, but it is interesting nonetheless. These driving videos act as reminders as to why things happen the way they happen. Honestly, these videos contain very valuable information. Journalists who intend to write about Japan should watch all of these videos! So keep on churning out more discussions about Japanese society and culture in the future! If professional writers won't watch 'em, I'll watch in their stead! Maybe I'll publish an article to public one day, haha!

"Plastic Love", as Takeuchi Mariya sings. I too hope you can grow some trees of your own, maybe you have some available space. How about a western cherry tree? :)
