2019|08 Weekly Update #1 - Post GenCon

Greetings,

GenCon 2019 has now past.  There was some great feedback to the game, and to the universe of Starship Inanna in general.  Some of that feedback will obviously influence the tabletop game as it develops, but some of it will also influence the stories we're going to be telling in Season 2 of the game.

Things we learned during the playtests include:
-People genuinely enjoyed delving into the lore of the war with the Mutari Allegiance
-Many seemed to love the idea of a mono-gendered species like the Jurion and people also really enjoyed the racial abilities (Sinaran having some infravision, Aquans having UV vision)
-People love the idea of phallic shaped artifacts (especially when you can tie it back to real human history and not just made up lore).
-Not having a xenoanthropologist on your team can be a great hindrance.
-We need more time to really let people sink their teeth into the lore and the crunchiness of a new game system.

We had a blast, and we will definitely be back at GenCon next year to run more games in Starship Inanna and longer games too.  I'm currently thinking of doing four four hour sessions on my own, Jamie will also likely run a couple.

Obviously while at GenCon I didn't get a lot of work done on Episode 8 (but the last full night I did actually manage to get some coding done thanks to discovering an extension for my chromebook).  Now that I am back, I've started trying to get through all these sex scenes.  I can't promise they will all be in the Alpha, but I've already told Omar and Jamie that we're doing the Alpha this month.  Omar has recently had to take on a new job, so his time is cut a little short but he claims he'll have some music for the alpha too.

That's about it for now, GenCon was the big news this past week, and it was fun meeting some of your there.  Crewman+ images from last week and this week will be posted on Friday.  Also a few more commissions are going on from last month, so hopefully those can be released too.
