Edinblog Update days ??? To ???

Past the halfway mark of this festival, by one day. How many days is one day anyway? What with late night calls and daytime naps, it all seems pretty surreal. Still enjoying the show. It’s such a fun balance to walk and audiences have been lovely though Sunday night (Before Day Off) was one of those ones where your mouth quiet quits on you (and the only reviewer I’ve had in so far was there, gross) and last night (After Day Off) the aircon decided to conk out which made me realise how quickly I’ve become used to an actually comfortable venue. Such edinburgh privilege! Seats the audience don’t actively damage themselves with! Clean toilets! A dressing room!

I’ve been surprised by how robust the show is when I’m off my game or if I need to change up some aspects of it for the audience that is there that day, given that it feels like a high wire act.

Ticket link below to share with your frenemies at will

Twist – 2–28 August @ 20:30

Underbelly, Bristo Square (Jersey)

https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/alice-fraser-twist

As always, am offering 2 for 1s for Patrons on any night I’m not sold out. Please email or message me with proof of purchase of your ticket THE DAY BEFORE you are due to come, and include your most ideal email so I can send you the complimentary ticket. Also hardship/artist tickets are available if you are strapped for cash or an artist who wants to come but would otherwise not be able to afford it. Email or message again the day before and if it’s not sold out, I’ll put you on the door.

[the likelihood of shows being sold out is low earlier in the week and gets higher on ye thurs, fri, sat. Back quieter on Sundays, which might resolve the age old debate of whether Sunday is the end or the beginning of the week.]

Breaking News!

On 3 September, Twist will be filmed at The Bill Murray Comedy Club (39 Queen’s Head Street in Islington, London). Tickets are not yet on sale but I’d love to have as many of you clever and kind folks there to help make this the best it can be. Keep an eye on my X-Twitter, Instagram etc and gigs page https://www.alicecomedyfraser.com/upcoming-gigs for more info when I have it. Also here. I’ll tell you here.

This is happening by the beneficence of the people at Go Faster Stripe, who have Good Taste and are Nice.

The Gargle (Live) –22 August @ 15:10

The Stand’s New Town Theatre – Lower Hall

https://tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/gargle-live

The first ever live gargle with Alison Spittle and Myq Kaplan was so much fun. I’d say it went off without a hitch but it was hitchy, a little glitchy and an absolute blast. Alison spittle reviewed being a slutty shrek and Myq got sincere. Live podcasts are a curious beasts and it’s wonderful to now have some faces to go with the void I normally imagine talking to on mic.

The guests for 22nd August are Tom Ballard & Tiff Stevenson.

There may also be an appearance from an alternate dimension by the mysterious D’Ancey LaGuarde! Find out by being there or listening at a later time.

D’Ancey LaGuarde

I have officially written enough of a book for it to be counted as a book, so now it’s a matter of making it into as good of a book as I can. It’s a joy to write and it’s making me giggle. Ideally I’d like it to work for more than just me, the D’Ancey superfan, so I’m hoping to recruit romance readers and genre nerds as well as podcast listeners and supportive Patreon types. My manuscript needs to be in the hands of Unbound by the end of September and though I don’t control it from there, am hoping that means it will be in your pre-orderly hands by Christmas.

Once I have a fixed release date, will let you know about any launch event type things online or non-line

So if you want your stocking stuffed in the most graphic way, with a paper or ebook that puts the hard into hardcover even when it’s soft cover, why not pick up a copy of the D’Ancey LaGuarde Reader for all your special some-bodies today!

New Tea With Alice: Steffan Alun

A new tea with Alice is out with the very Welsh and nice Steffan Alun! What a delightful rambly chat we had, about self diagnosis, in-group-ness, selfhood and comedy. No YouTube of it this week because we did it in person.

The Bugle: Live

Once we’ve all had a moment to process the creative chaos of Edinburgh, eat a few extra vegetables and remember what daylight is, I’ll be joining Andy Zaltzman to do a Live Bugle.

16 September @ Leicester Square Theatre

Is this our first picture of Laser Frasier?

Naw, that's a lovely photo :) Glad Twist is being filmed ("carded"?). I wasn't able to see it in Adelaide due to the then recent arrival of #2. I'd be interested to know what you adapt in a show to suit the audience on any given night. Perhaps you could talk about that at some point with reference to previous, now freely available shows?

I saw the show at the weekend and loved it. I've not been able to see as many shows as normal this year, but I couldn't miss Twist.
