A few things to talk about. First things first, since last update, I decided to stop smoking for good and it's been rough... But the worst is over. Still pressing a little harder than usual on the keyboard keys though. ππ
Rendering is going nicely as shown in the previews above. I had some nasty skin texture problems for Anna in this specific scene's lighting, she's a lot more high resolution then when we first met her in that backyard. So I decided to show her jacket earlier which is fairly important in the story almost as much as the guitar.
Not that she's gonna have it on for very long anyway...
Moving on to the coding side,
My pal Vision worked for a very long time on making a collectible system. We'll use the journal from the very beginning as hidden clickables throughout the story.
First one won't be hidden. After that, I might be mean. π
I always wanted to have those as a way to show special "story canon" renders and focused more around the scene they are found in. So the gallery will be split into 2 categories.
He also did a very nice custom settings screen, that's always nice.

2023-05-01 15:09:00 +0000 UTCThe placement can very well be creative, but I agree that you shouldn't make them hard to find or it will be detrimental to the overall experience. This is not a grindy sandbox (fortunately), but a great VN whose allure lies in its splendid art and story. In my opinion, people should take their time admiring your renders for their beauty rather than hovering their mouse pointer trying to spot some special renders hidden only God knows where.
