I vote for a translation video if it exists, but no pressure if it doesn’t. As for the next album, it’s a but older, but I’ve always thought Halcyon by Elle Goulding was a lyrical and musical work of genius (and she’s about to put out a new album! Yay!). More recent, my 2022 loves (besides Taylor ofc) were Love Sux by Avril Lavigne, Harry’s House by Harry Styles, and Familia by Camilla Cabello (you’ll need some translated lyrics on this one unless you speak Spanish, but it’s so good).

IICHLIWP would be a great album by Halsey to analyze. I think the writing and themes relating to motherhood are excellent

I love how in you should be sad she talks about how cars won’t make him feel whole and here she talks about keying his car. It’s like she’s trying to mess with these little things he uses to feel better about himself. I don’t know if they intended that way but we can sure find some layers there lol For the next album I would love if you’d another Halsey one too. Blue Neighbohood by Troye Sivan is very nice album too, it is kinda old already but it’s awesome.

Yes! That album is so literature heavy that the first lyrics on the first song are just quoting Shakespeare! It is my second favorite album by her (it was first before IICHLIWP)!

I mean personally I would love another halsey album next but I totally get if you don’t want to do the same artist twice! Some other pop girlies I love, just throwing them out there if any spark ideas: Ariana grande (thank u next album), little mix (LM5 album or confetti, glory days albums), demi Lovato (Holy FVCK album- a really deep and personal album and it’s more punk rock vibes), Camilla cabello (familia album), Avril Lavigne (love sux album)

“Tell me, have you ever keyed a Ferrari before?” Her ex G Eazy bought a Ferrari while they were together lol. “The only fuckin number you don’t hide in your phone” and then in her rap verse about him when she was featured on Post Malone’s song die for me she raps “i went through your phone and called the girls in your DMs and took all em home”. And, “brought some strangers in our bed and now you lost your right to privacy”. Halsey said she never actually keyed a car before but that Killing Boys is about those moments where you’re so hurt and so angry about how your ex treated you and you’re in bed playing all these scenarios in your head about how you’d love to just go sneak over and key his car and break his window in but then you come to this realization of like “well, no I can’t do that” and that’s when she says “then stop, cause I don’t wanna Uma Thurman your ass no more” lol. Halsey could say the most messed up stuff and I’d still grin so big at it because she’s such a badass 😂 Halsey’s song The Lighthouse is a metaphor of a siren luring sailors to their deaths and it’s the most badass song! Here’s a verse from that song lol ! “I met a sailor on a ship with promise in his eyes He kissed me on the mouth and dug his fingers in my thighs But a sailor ain't a savior 'cause they only tell you lies So I left him there 'til the sunrise Well, the waves were tall and they were crashin' down He's layin' in the water, begging God to let him drown So I showed him all my teeth and then I laughed out loud 'Cause I never wanted savin', I just wanted to be found” 🔥🔥

Teacher KP, would you be interested in doing Hopeless Fountain Kingdom by Halsey for the next album? I know we are doing them now but there is a TON of literature references in the album and you might enjoy it!

I love all the movie scenes and illusions in this album they're so fun!! And I def think you should cover Suga's Interlude! It's so impactful lyrically, his verses give so much depth to the album and narrative Halsey has going on with the sort of celebrity version of herself. You can find a lyric video with his verses also translated! I've seen a few on YouTube ^.^
