I think some possible outcomes are: - It turns out they just barely ran out of time so now the game is over and the unexpected consequences are taking place. - Because Jess crushed Josh instead, another bug occurs because the game rules didn't account for "friendly fire." - Jess THINKS she crushed Josh but he survived. Because they both think he's been crushed, they won't bother to search for him. The time runs out and he's stuck at that size forever without them even knowing he's still alive.
