Unofficial downloads of The East Block
Added 2024-11-12 08:24:32 +0000 UTCHey guys, I just want to bring up an issue that I have received several messages about. Apparently virus infected versions of my game are circulating around on various pirate websites and forums. I have had reports of two different instances or malicious code. One called "scan card" and another called "V__t1" and there may be more. These virus's are designed to steal personal information and credit card info from people that run the game. I know many of you like to try games before you decide to support the creators, but please be careful and run a virus scan on the folder after you unzip it to make sure it's not infected. If you download it from any of the links I have posted here on patreon or my other official sources then you don't have anything to worry about. Thanks again for all your support, and once again, please be careful when downloading games from pirate sites and forums.

I mean, all I can do is give you my word. Also, just do a virus scan of the files if you are concerned.

2025-01-28 00:12:38 +0000 UTCNo matter what, you need to be careful, I supported a DEV two days ago here on patreon, DL from his/her link and my antivirus went nuts "Win32/Wacatac.B!ml". Yes it could've been a false postive, but a quick google AKA reddit, turned out that the virus is not a false postive and was just like you discribed, stealing passwords, steal ur I'd, VirusTotal scan also came out with a malware warning. The problem with Renpy, the virus could be triggered at some point in the story, it could be that you need to make a choice, and BAM virus tries to infect your system, so your antivirus wont trigger and block it before it activates. As always, you can check files via this website : https://www.virustotal.com/gui/home/upload
