Chapter six dev log.

Hey guys, it's time for the first dev log since the release of chapter five. I might be rambling a bit in this one so sorry in advance.

So chapter five is out and from what I can tell, most of you enjoyed it. As usual it's impossible to make something that everyone likes. Adult visual novel enjoyers have much different expectations versus fans of a TV series for example. I feel like we expect a complete self contained experience in every update that ticks every box and that's difficult to provide in a 12 part series. Let's face it, a lot of people play this game to satisfy sexual urges while for others that's secondary or even lower on their list of reasons to play. This is why I see quite a lot of conflicting opinions. I have to be careful not to lean one way or the other too much. I'm trying to satisfy as many people as possible without sacrificing my own enjoyment of the game. It is vital that I'm making something that I really enjoy or the quality will suffer. If I don't enjoy this then it's basically over. I'm increasing the lewdness on a trajectory that I feel suits the planned length of the game. Go too far too soon and what's left to see? I plan to have the last three or four chapters for the absolute highest level of lewdness. All the wild scenes I have planned will fit in those updates, but that's not to say there won't be really hot scenes before that. I just hope you guys will stick around till the end. Every month I get a couple people tell me they are taking their ball and going home because the game isn't giving them precisely what they expect. I understand how they feel. I've been there myself. There have been times when I play a highly anticipated update to a game and I'm left thinking, that's it? Now I have to wait god only knows how long till the next one. It can be frustrating. All I can say is, I listen to what you guys say and it steers some of my decisions when I'm making the game but in the end I've gotta go with my instincts and make what I enjoy. Hopefully most of you will enjoy that too.

On the personal front, things are going well and I don't anticipate any delays like last time. I'm targeting a late September first release. Fingers crossed that comes to fruition. I'm planning this chapter out a bit more strict in how the scenes will play out. My workflow has been very messy. I actually start with the renders and write afterwards and fill it out with renders while I'm writing. This might sound bizarre to most of you since many devs more than likely do it the other way around and that I'm sure is much better for project management, but the way I do it is what works for me. I'm a very visual person and I need that visualization for the scene to fully form in the writing. But to tighten things up starting now, I'm storyboarding the scenes and the chapter as a whole. I'm still rendering most of the images first but I'm creating key images in a storyboard format to keep things from growing out of control. Hopefully this will help keep things efficient.

Chapter six and beyond will see a lot more important choices that will have consequences in the future and how the game ends. There will be multiple endings to this game but I have planned all of them to feel satisfying on some level and in line with what the player has shown is important to them by the choices they have made. I'm really looking forward to continuing to make this game and I'm so glad that you guys are enjoying it too. I take all your thoughts, opinions and suggestions into consideration when I make this game so please don't hesitate to dm me anytime.
