Release schedule poll
Added 2024-04-15 17:56:33 +0000 UTCHey everybody, I was thinking about maybe releasing chapters in two parts. For example, what do you think about releasing chapter five part one in May and then part two in June?
Would you guys prefer that kind of release frequency?

I still might decide to do monthly releases, because if I'm being honest, I'll make more money and the game will get featured on the what's new page on the forums more often, which means more patrons. However, I will only do this if I can for sure make a compelling amount of content that stands on it's own each month. I'll think about this and see. For now, I'm going to listen to the majority of my patrons and continue with releases every two months.

2024-04-17 19:14:45 +0000 UTCI like monthly updates, that makes me feel that the Dev has done work on the Game, I personally only support devs that deliver monthly updates, and then start support after a release, I guess it is because I supported to many devs that had the game abandoned or otherwise and had a feeling of betrayal afterwards for paying for nothing.

2024-04-16 01:24:41 +0000 UTCEvery 2 months or so would be best, my friend. And if you need some extra time without the pressure, this is more ideal.

2024-04-15 20:32:29 +0000 UTCI think I'm leaning toward the release schedule we're on now, especially since the vast majority seems to be voting for that.

2024-04-15 20:29:11 +0000 UTCI can't choose either. Bobby, it depends on how your work on the chapters progresses. Don't put pressure on yourself and release your update if you think it's okay and you're happy with the update.

2024-04-15 20:22:50 +0000 UTCWhat Pochops and HikBenAkk477 said. Daily release would be great but experience shows monthly release is usually disappointing as you just don't get a chance to reach user satisfaction. It's most important to do it your way for your pleasure. I hate waiting, who doesn't, but what we get has got to make an impact. Of course if you can hit those big numbers 400-500 renders a month don't let us stop you, but it's probably bi-monthly most of us understand that.

2024-04-15 20:19:46 +0000 UTCProduction and quality matter more than frequency to me. I have a loose production baseline I expect from the developers I support of about 200 renders per month. Obviously, this is not set in stone, and I know there are many factors that can affect that number up or down. But basically, if a developer releases every month, I expect less content (in the neighborhood of 200 renders). If it’s a 3-month cycle, I expect more content (about 600 renders). And a 6-month cycle I anticipate a larger update (about 1200 renders), and so on. The other thing I recommend to some of the developers I support is never announce release dates way out in advance, which just puts unnecessary pressure on yourself and runs the risk of pissing people off if it’s missed. Instead, just communicate with your supporters and provide regular progress reports. Then only announce a release date when you are sure you are ready. You already do a great job communicating with your supporters, so please don’t sweat your release schedule too much.

2024-04-15 18:44:14 +0000 UTCI cannot choose... Both options are interesting in their own way ^^ Hence I say : Bobby, choose the option you are the most comfortable with in order to not put too much pressure on your shoulders ;-)

2024-04-15 18:43:57 +0000 UTCI was thinking a daily release would be cool. 😎 Come on Bobbyboy you got this! 😂

2024-04-15 18:40:09 +0000 UTCI would need a lot more people working on the game for weekly releases to be a thing. Or plan a year ahead and have the content made way in advance. One thing I'm definitely going to try and do for my next game is have a couple of chapters in the bank before the first release.

2024-04-15 18:29:25 +0000 UTCFor remebering more about the characters and the plot, I like a faster release cycle. Even once a month is a lot of time - in an ideal world, a release once a week wood be very good.
