070: Sleeping Together

"Um, Yui, can't we discuss this?"

Asuna's face was mournful. She couldn't just refuse Yui's request with a stern face, could she? After all, the other was an innocent little girl. Could she really reject her like this?

However, something even more unexpected happened. Yui bit her lip, looking as if she would cry if Asuna didn't agree. Truly, she was exploiting the advantages of being a child to the fullest.

"Big Sister Asuna, it's the first time Yui has met Mommy and Daddy. Yui really wants to have a meal with Mommy and Daddy once. Can Yui be willful just this once?"

Those teary eyes seemed filled with infinite longing, tugging at Asuna's heartstrings.

There was a time when he, as a child, had yearned to be with her family. Asuna's parents, strictly speaking, were not qualified parents. One was busy with work, the other with academics, for Asuna, there was only education and criticism, never encouragement and care.

At this moment, Asuna seemed to feel the sadness and helplessness in Yui's heart.

"Okay..."

As soon as that word came out, Asuna regretted it.

"Thank you, Big Sister Asuna!"

As expected, just as Asuna anticipated, Yui eagerly pulled Momo and Argo to her seats. Argo seemed surprised, while Momo seemed indifferent, saying, "Let's just go along with this little one for today."

As Momo spoke, Asuna could only nod. Yes, after all, this was just temporary, just a Quest, just a game.

Her relationship with Momo in reality was what mattered most. The twists and turns at the moment... meant nothing!

Determined, Asuna became a bit stronger, deciding to bravely face everything before her!

With her resolve set, Asuna bravely endured for 3 minutes and 22 seconds, her rationality nearing collapse.

"Daddy, I want to eat this!"

"Mommy, I want to eat that!"

"Thank you, Daddy!"

"Thank you, Mommy!"

"Mommy, why are you only feeding Yui? Why don't you feed Daddy too?"

And so, this was the scene before them.

The dining table for four was rectangular. On one side sat the lonely Asuna, hesitating with chopsticks in hand, unsure of what to eat.

On the other side, was the harmonious family, with Yui in the middle, Momo and Argo on either side.

Yui held Momo with one hand and Argo with the other, completely treating herself as their real daughter—indeed, at the moment, she was Momo's real daughter, waiting for Momo to truly take her out of Aincrad, at which point this contract would truly be fulfilled.

As for Argo, although Yui initially had some ulterior motives in recognizing Argo as her mother, her first contact with a human deeply moved Argo, and she was also attracted by Argo's emotions.

After all, Argo was the one who genuinely showed affection and attachment towards her. Perhaps, just like birds consider the first living being they see as family, Yui really wanted to consider Argo her mother.

As for Asuna, Yui's initial disgust and rudeness towards her weren't her true feelings but had a purpose. But now, Yui's politeness towards Asuna wasn't because she liked her, but simply because of Asuna's relationship with Momo.

Well, in simple terms, Yui wasn't oblivious to all this. Even though she was innocent, as a system AI, an artificial intelligence, her knowledge, or rather common sense, surpassed that of most humans.

However, even if she understood, Yui hoped to make some changes. While carrying out her own Quests, she wanted to try to improve the relationship between Momo and Argo.

This, she didn't even tell Momo, just her own little thoughts.

On one side was the joyful family, the atmosphere intoxicating; on the other side was a lone figure, the atmosphere chilly.

A small dining table unexpectedly became a huge dividing line, which was quite astonishing.

"Mommy, why aren't you feeding Daddy?"

Facing Yui's innocent gaze, Argo was at a loss for words. On the other side, Asuna had already picked up her chopsticks. The way she held them, why did it seem so familiar? And her slight backward movement with the chopsticks, wasn't that the starting move of the thrusting sword skill?

"Um, Yui, don't make a scene! We're guests, we shouldn't be too noisy. You know, Big Sister Asuna's family has rules about not talking during meals!"

As she spoke, Argo repeatedly made eye contact with Momo. She didn't want their relationship to collapse at the dinner table like this.

With a playful look in his eyes, Momo nodded and said, "Yui, Mommy and Daddy have eaten together before, but it's your first time. So, Yui, you're the focus!"

"Yui doesn't understand."

"You see, Mommy has been picking out things you like to eat. So, would you like to help Mommy choose some things she likes to eat too? Care is mutual, you know!"

Yui's eyes lit up, nodding. Compared to making her own parents' relationship closer, Momo's suggestion was equally appealing.

"Mommy, Mommy, what do you like to eat? Yui will prepare it for you. Yui wants to take care of Mommy!"

Argo breathed a sigh of relief, looking at Momo with a hint of gratitude. Seeing Asuna's fingers relax slightly, she finally felt temporary peace of mind.

"Asuna, why don't you try the food you made? I really like it!"

At this point, Momo finally started talking to Asuna. Asuna was stunned, quickly forcing a smile. It was only when she saw Momo's approval and warm gaze that she truly came to her senses.

"Well, of course! I prepared it carefully. If you like it, Momo, I'll make it for you often!"

"Then I'll look forward to it!"

The slightly eerie atmosphere of dinner finally came to an end. With Argo's frantic reminders and occasional guidance from Momo, Asuna managed to avoid accumulating enough anger to unleash her ultimate attack.

However, after dinner, Argo suddenly realized a crucial issue. If this problem wasn't resolved, Asuna wouldn't just unleash her ultimate attack, she might even transform into a boss with four health bars and slaughter everyone in the room!

Argo deeply understood that beneath Asuna's gentle appearance lay a fiercely radical soul. Just think about that time when Asuna and her Rose Knights were raiding a boss; she was there. Asuna's relentless charge could easily be described as that of a berserker.

How could they solve this problem?

Argo had no choice but to look to Momo. Momo, meeting Argo's gaze, seemed to understand something, smiling gently.

Gentle my foot, she totally doesn't get it! This problem is about to explode, why aren't you concerned at all!

Compared to the real world, nightlife in Aincrad was incredibly dull. Forget about phones, computers, or the internet; even electricity, the most basic necessity, was nonexistent. What could people do in Aincrad's nights?

Basically, they would gather together with a few people, holding glasses of wine and chatting. But everyone was in Aincrad, battling monsters and leveling up every day. After four months of daily chatting, how much could they still talk about?

So, nightlife in Aincrad was boring and monotonous. Players were forced to develop good habits of going to bed early and waking up early.

By now, the sky had darkened, and many players had probably returned to their inns to take stock of their gains for the day. Those with crafting skills might take this opportunity to spend some time crafting equipment to subsidize their expenses in Cor.

Asuna took out a pair of gloves she was knitting halfway through. These were couple gloves she was making for herself and Momo. Momo's black one was already finished, and her white one was nearing completion.

At this moment, Yui, who was nestled against Argo, squinted her eyes and yawned.

"Mommy, Yui is sleepy. Yui wants to sleep."

Oh no!

Argo covered her face; it was finally happening.

Asuna was slightly taken aback, then she realized what was happening. Her expression became somewhat strange as she said, "Um, Yui, how about you sleep here with us? The beds here are very comfortable."

"Um, thank you, Big Sister Asuna."

Yui's polite response made Asuna smile slightly. If Yui didn't cause trouble, she was indeed a good child. Was it her own narrow-mindedness that made her dislike such children?

"Yui wants to sleep with Mommy."

Asuna's eyelids twitched, and Argo's face turned pale.

Only Momo seemed a bit slow to grasp the situation, looking completely clueless.

Argo wished she could cover Yui's mouth right now. Yui must not say the following words!

Unfortunately, it was too late.

"Yui also wants to sleep with Daddy! Mommy and Daddy, let's all sleep together!"

Yui's cheerful voice echoed in the room, her innocent request so adorable. However, this adorable request covered the room in frost.

Waves of cold, black air emanated from behind Asuna.

"Um, Yui, don't be naughty! Isn't it enough to have Mommy with you?"

"Um, Asuna, it's getting late. How about Yui and I rent a room in the town's inn? Let's go, Yui!"

Yui pursed her lips, suddenly becoming stubborn. "No! It's Yui's first time seeing Mommy and Daddy, so Yui wants to sleep with Mommy and Daddy! Why can't we? Mommy and Daddy should sleep together, right?"
