Kakegurui: Ten Consecutive Guaranteed Hits

Volume 1 Chapter 51: The "Conspiracy" of Kiyohei

Kiyohei Mary sat on the other side of the gambling table, took a deep breath, and gazed intensely at Kiyohei. She spoke up, "What do you want to bet with me?"

No matter what Kiyohei wanted to bet with her, no matter how slim the odds were, Mary would choose to accept. For her, as long as there was a glimmer of hope, it was worth taking a chance.

"I'll bet on what you and Tohin Yukimi just gambled." Kiyohei crossed his hands, and with a smile, he gestured towards Yukimi, saying, "Threehitdice."

Huh? Bet on that?

Mary was stunned; she never expected Kiyohei to suggest this. After all, she had a secret weapon in her hand...

Kiyohei turned to Mikura, "Sado-san, can you be the dealer for the next round?"

"Hmph... you didn't call me earlier, and now you want me to be the dealer? Do you think I'm at your beck and call?" Mikura rolled her eyes lazily and declined, "Why bother calling me now?"

"What's wrong? Am I not doing a good job?" Runa Yomozuki, tilted her head, puzzled.

"No, it's because you're doing too well that I don't want you to be the dealer for the next round." Kiyohei shook his head with a smile and produced a pack of beef jerky from his pocket, handing it to Runa. "You helped me a lot earlier. Thanks."

"You still have food in your pocket!" Runa's eyes lit up, and she no longer cared about why Kiyohei wanted to change the dealer. She took the snacks and sat in a corner chair, enjoying them.

Indeed... the snacks Kiyohei brought out tasted much better than what she had bought herself. It was like the difference between street food and a Michelin-starred restaurant, a world of difference. Although this beef jerky didn't match up to the potato chips from earlier, it was still of the caliber of an authentic century-old shop, making Runa very happy.

Where did this guy buy these snacks from? I have to find out! Runa thought selfishly.

Kiyohei got up and beckoned to Mikura, "Sado-san, can we talk for a moment?"

"Who are you? I'm not going over there," Mikura crossed her arms and disdainfully huffed.

But suddenly, she felt someone pull on the chain of her collar, applying force to pull her backward. She turned around to see Sachiko just releasing the iron chain.

"Go ahead, I want to see what he's up to," Sachiko waved her hand, amused.

Sachiko had come to the casino this time because she heard that Mary was here, and she wanted to see how interesting the girl who had won against her classmates in the "Debut Battle" was. As for the overdue casino usage fee from Togakushi, it was just a side matter.

However, now her interest had shifted from Mary to Kiyohei. She wanted to see what tricks Kiyohei could come up with.

In Mikura's view, Sachiko was her "master," and even if she was unwilling, she had to listen to her master's orders.

Reluctantly, Mikura followed Kiyohei out of the room, her arms crossed, displaying a rejecting attitude. She urged impatiently, "Hurry up and speak. What do you want to say to me? Hurry, my master is waiting for me."

"I just want you to do me a little favor," Kiyohei smiled, but what he said shocked Mikura.

"When you act as the dealer later, secretly change the numbers I write down for me. You should know which one has a better chance of winning, right?"

"Are you trying to cheat!?" Mikura looked at Kiyohei in shock. She then vigorously shook her head, causing the collar around her neck and the silver chain attached to it to sway and make a pleasing "ding-ding-ding" sound.

"No way, I'm a good dealer. I won't help you cheat! If Juraku-sama finds out, she'll definitely get rid of me!"

"You're afraid of Juraku-san finding out if you cheat? Then why would you help Togakushi-san cheat?"

As Kiyohei spoke, he grabbed the end of her iron chain and subconsciously tugged on it.

The feel of this iron chain was quite nice, no wonder Sachiko liked to hold it when she had nothing else to do. A beautiful girl with a collar around her neck being led by you, a ridiculous sense of satisfaction emerged in Kiyohei's heart, as if he and Mikura were playing some kind of special master-slave role-play.

Mikura was taken aback for a moment, and her cheeks suddenly turned red. She angrily pulled the iron chain out of Kiyohei's hand, saying, "I didn't cheat for her! What are you talking about? I don't understand!"

"Did you really not cheat? This isn't something you can refute..." Kiyohei showed a sinister smile, forcing Mikura against the wall. He placed one hand against the wall, creating a "wall slam" pose, blocking Mikura's way and leaving her with no escape.

Then, he gripped Mikura's right wrist and pulled out a transparent pocket sewn inside her sleeve, containing several pieces of paper with letters written on them.

The dice game that Mary and Togakushi were playing had paper and a pen provided by Mikura. The type of paper and the pen's marks matched exactly with what was in the secret pocket inside her sleeve.

Now there was undeniable evidence, and she couldn't deny it.

Kiyohei released her arm, his smile warm but carrying a hint of threat. "Sado-san, if you don't help me, I'll have to tell Juraku-san about your cheating."

"It's okay; with my cheating skills, Juraku-sama has probably figured it out already!" Although Mikura was trying to act tough, Kiyohei still saw a hint of panic in her eyes.

Kiyohei chuckled softly. "Hehe... Are you sure it's okay? If the student council members hear rumors about a dealer secretly favoring one side during arbitration, and if those rumors spread..."

"This was my doing, and it has nothing to do with Juraku-sama!" Mikura hastily covered Kiyohei's mouth, anxious to clear the situation and protect Sachiko from any implication.

Seeing how agitated she was, Kiyohei was concerned that she might inadvertently strangle herself with the iron chain in her desperation. He pushed away Mikura's hand and quickly reassured her, "Don't worry, as long as you help me, these rumors will never get out..."

In reality, Kiyohei was well aware that this whole situation was likely Mikura's own initiative. Even if it did get out, it wouldn't have any impact on Sachiko's reputation. After her emotions had stabilized, Kiyohei asked, "Since you know that this could affect Sachiko's reputation if it gets out, why did you insist on helping Togakushi target Mary earlier?"

"That's because...!" Mikura was about to speak but suddenly stopped, looking at Kiyohei with caution. "Why are you asking this? I won't tell you!"

"I'm not interested in that. Actually, I'm on the same side as you," Kiyohei tried to persuade Mikura with his words.

"You see, you have animosity towards Mary and want her to lose. And I, like you, also want her to lose. If she loses, I'll have free labor, someone who can work for me for free. It's a win-win for both of us, isn't it?"

"You do have a point..." Mikura let go of her guard and looked at Kiyohei with disdain.

This guy was truly despicable. Mary was currently in a precarious situation, penniless and forced to offer herself as collateral. He, claiming to be her friend, was conspiring to cheat and take away Mary's last bit of value, making her work in the casino.

Mikura, lost in her thoughts about all this, seemed to forget that if it weren't for her cheating, Mary wouldn't have failed in the gambling and lost her entire fortune of one million.
