A sneak peek at the HL project...

If you know me, you know that I'm always working on some project or other. Usually several big ideas at a time. 

For those of you who haven't been with me long enough to know the whole story on what Heather's Lament is, (I love you thank you for being here!), I'll give a quick rundown first!

The "world" that Total Trauma exists in first came into being in 2015 when I started writing a fanfiction called "Heather's Lament". I was 18 at the time, and deeply attached to Heather. (By "deeply attached," I of course mean that I was the quintessential tumblr kinnie.) It was ten chapters long, and I wrote it over the course of three months -- It still exists on FFN now, but if you want to give the original a read, I recommend doing it here.

In that fic, which takes place in 2011 in between World Tour and All Stars, you see a lot of things that still persist into Total Trauma, which takes place years after the end of the series. Heather and Sierra's relationship begins and so does Sierra and Cody's-- and you even see the beginnings of the Noah/Justin/Owen relationship developing in the background. 

But would I go so far as to call it a prequel? Maybe not. While the story will always be special to me, there are some things I would change or add today, especially if I wanted it to serve as a proper prequel to Total Trauma. 

SPOILER: That's what I'm doing. 

For the past... man, has it been a year already!? I've been working on rewriting Heather's Lament into something new, which will have the original story and the events within it still at its core, but will read like a proper novel. I am immensely proud of it so far and I want to give you all a peek at what I've been working on. 

The first thing... The story has received a new title, and with it, a new appearance. You guys are the very first to get to see this! AAAA! I'm so stoked! 

FLAPS MY HANDS AROUND !!! 

Doesn't it look fantastic!? The cover illustration was done by the incomparable Axel Kennedy. I honestly couldn't be happier with how it looks right now. 

Of course, things are subject to change between now and the actual release, and this is really just a mock-up, but oh my goodness does it make me excited. I hope you're all excited, too!
