Hextracts? [WIP]

Scribbled down some sketches of an idea I had for an original monster taming series (unrelated to Pokemon), called "Hextracts"!

Imagine Pokemon, but you're a witch creating magical familiars by brewing ingredients together in your cauldron! After gathering odd ingredients from magical monsters and plants, I like to think there's a some kind of potion brewing minigame similar to the poffin cooking game in the Sinnoh games, and the resulting monster you get depends on the ingredients you use. Maybe you manage a little magical potions+pet shop in the outskirts of town too?

The monsters themselves are called "Hextracts" (hex + extract), which are manifestations of potions, born from a boiling cauldron. They'd be able to transform back into their liquid form, which allows them to be stored in potion bottles (aka the equivalent of a Poke Ball). Most of them would be based on animals that are classic witch familiars, with lots of elemental variations depending on the ingredients used. Speaking of elements, I kinda want a set of strange and unorthodox ones, something like:

Nothing's set in stone of course, just brainstorming! Not sure if I'll do anything more with this concept but it was a fun brain exercise either way!

Oh wow that's such a cool concept I love it!! Haha kinda reminds me of those old theories about Ultra Beasts being transformed humans

... I'm stealing this btw. Also if you want another monster taming idea you can do is something akin to Ghostwire Tokyo where there is a mirror dimension almost where souls reside and while some move on to eternal peace, some stay and change their fates by turning their essences into monsters that tell us who the soul was. Like maybe the soul becomes a pig to represent gluttony/greed, that sort of stuff. It's been an idea I've had for a while and I just haven't found the right mf to work this idea with haha

I feel you with wanting to do a monster tamer project and it looks like you've got a pretty good idea brewing up. I'm interested to see where it goes!
