We've now had a total of 32 episodes and there hasn't been a single weak one - there hasn't even been a single weak moment! I love the way that, very slowly, Frieren is shown becoming less elf and more human.

2026-02-10 10:51:45 +0000 UTCDidn't really get the placement of the Eisen/Stark scene at the end of the date on first watch, but made sense on rewatch. They add a moment of Stark and Fern talking about "They made too many different statues of Himmel, huh?" during the date, into later talking about how grateful they are to have a date like this, with Fern thanking Heiter for that and Stark thanking Eisen. Of course, we know from season 1 that Frieren asked Heiter why he took Fern in, and he said "Because it's what Himmel the Hero would have done." Then Eisen telling Stark the same thing, to hammer home the throughline that the ripple effect of Himmel's life can be felt even in this small moment between Fern and Stark without them realising it. Playing "Mirrored Lotus" from the season 1 OST in the background during the Eisen scene, which so far had only been used during the flashback of Himmel giving the ring to Frieren, was pretty sneaky too!

2026-02-10 10:06:10 +0000 UTCAs someone who has moved through Germany from East to South to North to Center, and is now thinking about moving to Denmark, I feel judged by this episode 😂 I just take the most important people and the memories with me. Maybe moving three times as a child kind of disconnected the idea of space from home for me 🤔 The house I lived in as a baby is one I have no memories of. The house I lived in during my early childhood was sold to another family. The house I spent my early teens in was demolished last November. The flats I lived in afterward were all rented. I have the feeling that buying a home is a big decision, one I want to make only when I feel like I truly want to stay. And owning a house is a lot of work, too. My brother and I were happy to sell our father’s house without the need to renovate, because every buyer just wanted the land. 😂
