I am so late but this episode is so cute omg I love Kita and Bocchi!!!! I have not been able to catch up with any videos because I was on a trip to Cairo, Egypt. Very fun trip, I got to see the Pyramids of Giza which I am still so giddy about! Since I am a huge Jojo's nerd my song recommendation for this episode is Walk Like an Egyptian by The Bangles.

2026-01-01 20:55:01 +0000 UTCAlmost at the end ^^ I was going to save this recommendation for the last episode, but I think it fits well here with "Song from an artist I love but never got the chance to hear it live" with "A Certain Romance" by Arctic Monkeys. I found out about them late into their AM album related where I think they really got popular, and after playing through their catalogue out of curiosity. this song came on and quickly became my second favourite song of all time because of its last 2 and a half minutes or so. I feel it to be a beautifully bittersweet internal realization of a good time coming to an end, but looking back on it with affection and gratitude. If something gets posted today I'll say it again, but Happy New Year everyone ❤️

By the way, just out of curiosity: have you girls decided what to watch during the gap week between Bocchi and Frieren? My song recommendation for this week is 'Dancing Girl' by Terry Callier. As the opening track for the movie Sentimental Value, it really left a deep impression on me. It surprisingly fits the film's Nordic setting perfectly—that specific vibe of warmth hidden within the cold environment. I actually only watched the movie for Elle Fanning since she’s one of my favorite actress, but I was pleasantly surprised to see Stellan Skarsgård (Luthen from Andor) starring in it too. I have a feeling that Lola has already added this movie to her watchlist though😂

Thanks to everyone who sent me messages on the discord over the week, I was touched by them ❤️ thank you to anyone who donated to WSP or any organization to keep people housed and fed over winter. I’ve got a week of reactions to catch up on but honestly so nice that Bocchi is the show for me to come back to first. For this week’s recommendation, I don’t remember if it’s been commented before or not but “One of the Greats” by Florence + The Machine has some of the best lyrics I’ve heard this year imo.
