Think it would be fun for them to watch it without knowing this. I know its not really a spoiler since you can figure this if you've seen R1, but still, they have a unique viewer experience not having seen it.

The guy speaking at the meeting is Director Krennic. An imperial middle manager, but is a menacing force. Krennic is equivilent to an Imperial Colonel (which means he's of very high rank). He's tasked with constructing the greatest weapon in the universe (the Death Star. The Death Start makes an appearance after the end credits of Season 1 episode 12). But in season two, he's keeping it a secret, even from the men and women in the meeting room. Not even Dedra knows the truth. The lie is that the Empire needs the Ghorman planet for minerals for an energy program when in fact, the minerals are needed for the Death Star super weapon.

Among the things that the imperial propaganda guys say about the reputation of the Ghor are "overcharging" (when it comes to prices), arrogance and keeping to themselves. Sure sounds like it could be taken from antisemitic Nazi propaganda about Jews, just like this meeting mirros the Nazis planning the Holocaust. The Maya Pei brigade and the Ghorman Front were among the other rebellious factions that Saw Gerrera mentioned to Luthen, saying they're all lost. We see here that Saw was apparently right about Maya Pei. Mon Mothma also talked about Ghorman in some senate scene(s), I believe. I really like how Krennic is portrayed, such a show man, all proud that he got to talk to the Emperor. But it is implicitly clear that there are still other people who rank higher in the imperial hierachy because they aren't at the meeting, but they will be informed about its results. (Like Governor Tarkin.) By the way, there are some phrases where the ears of Star Wars fans perk up, because they come up in a one of the movies in memorable way, and "unlimited power", which Krennic mentioned as one of the central parts of the emperor's agenda, is one of these.

Watch this episode again after reading up on the "Wannsee Conference", it hits differently.
