The orphanage is just something that happened in Germany and the new people we have been meeting over the last couple of episodes are related to the Czech secret police. We know nothing about what the Czech secret police have done in the past or what these people are up to now, except that they are looking for Johan, info on Johan, and/or Johan's mother.
