It's weird that English subtitles are like that. I always watch shows with subtitles when it's not my language and I never had that issue lol. The subtitles never appear before the actors perform the lines

2025-08-01 21:02:07 +0000 UTCAlso. I love watching people react or laugh at lines before they even said because they read the subtitles before the actor even performs the lines. Subtitles are one of the worst things to happen to tv and movie. This obsession with reading lines of dialogue has ruined the enjoyment of performances. I feel I’ve said this in every season these wonderful ladies have ever watched. But it bugs me so dang much. I know they speak a different language. So I am fairly ok with them using subtitles sometimes. But it’s just become a crutch of people who don’t want to fully pay attention to a show.

2025-07-31 19:20:29 +0000 UTCI don’t see any of this Sydney and carmy stuff they are talking about. And I think carmy just doesn’t know how to handle love and peace. He is attached to chaos in his soul. I think that’s what he was trying to tell Clair but he just has no idea how to describe both the feelings he felt and why they made him act the way he did. But I just don’t in any way shape or form see this romantic connection with Sydney. I think he sees a better version of himself without the berzzato baggage but much like Clair he doesn’t know how to deal with those feelings and he doesn’t know how to be nurturing to her. He thinks by being his crazy self and getting a star it somehow helps Sydney when it’s really just the great passionate chef that loves the collaboration of a kitchen, that we really haven’t even seen in this show, that Sydney loves and wants as well. I’m genuinely just sort of confused at their thought process at the end of this episode. I guess I see what they are talking about. Sort of. But I think the thing I bump up against is the sort of pitting Clair against Sydney and one or the other is best for Carmy. I don’t think it’s that simple. Not saying they do think it’s simple. But to me that’s two very different, yes connected for sure, parts of his life. And I also just love them both and want them both to be in carms life. WOW. That’s a ramble. I apologize. Anywho. Great friggan episode. This has jumped into my top 3 all time shows. Which is may be why I might seem a little defensive. I’ve never experienced such real characters and life on a tv show like this show.
