Arcane 2x05 Reaction

Lol a whole Murder attempt. But I guess they are brothers because Vaner really believed that would work. And it might have hey

Karabo

Jayce and Viktor are so interesting for me but especially Jayce. My boy , wtf did you see out there and why is your beard so serious, where's the other 2 from the brain trust?

Karabo

Yeah it totally depends on the show. Like severance they were both detectives figuring things out.

alex otis

I feel like their reactions are different depend on the show tho. Sometimes Lola was more emotional than Milena, and vice versa.

Raphael

I do wish sometimes. And may be this is rude and not nice, I hope not, but I do wish that Lola could just watch the show. She is always trying to figure out more more. Like no scene seems satisfying to her cause she just needs all the information at once. That’s how a lot of people watch tv. And I’m just not that way. Milena more resembles me while watching, I’m emotional and I care about the characters and not the mystery or what is happening. Not that I don’t think those things sometimes. But plot just isn’t as important as character to me. Like in the flashback scene, Lola just seems lost because silco is there and knew vi/powder when they were younger. And it just doesn’t seem like she is feeling the feels of the moment because she wants more answers. And that’s not wrong. That’s not a bad way to watch. It’s just sooooo different than how I make my way through shows. That said. I’m super glad she is that way because she asks questions I would never think of. That’s why these two are so perfect for reactions. They look at things differently but meet in the middle. Also I thought it was so funny they spent so much time thinking they split up. They never did. They just misread that situation and it really bothered them. I love that.

alex otis

So the Vander/Warwick thing from the previous episode was not something obvious that you missed. There is a character in the game named warwick that people had theorized is vander basically since s1ep1 when vander is referred to as "hound of the underground" but this foreshadowing was something that only league of legends degenerates like myself would pick up on

Joshua Miller

“height/weight do not factor in”. I find this extremely difficult to answer because body weight and height play a pretty big role. :D

Robert H.

I feel like you are missing a big factor that changes seemingly broken relationships between Jinx and Vi at this point of the story, Isha. Isha literally dropped into Jinx's lap and made positive influence on her. You are correct that Jinx had major mental issues, and her mental issue was the strongest at the tea party in S1 finale. However, like Jinx's monologue in the beginning of ep2 said without Vi and Silco always bossing her around, she suddenly felt so quiet in her mind. The "Jinx" persona partially came back in ep4 after Isha got captured, only this time her purpose was not to sake approval/affection from Silco by doing terrorist shit, but to protect Isha. Also, Vi and Jinx's facial animations in Ep3 when Isha broke up their fight were very subtle and meaningful. I feel like Isha's intervention at that moment was the turning point of two sisters' relationship in season 2. Vi realized a little girl was willing to risk her life and protect Jinx who Vi thought was too far gone. A moment later after Vi stopped Caitlyn, Jinx also realized maybe the big sis she knew wasn't completely gone because Vi was willing to protect a random kid she barely met 10 seconds ago from Caitlyn.

Raphael

The development of Vi and Jinx mostly has to do with Isha. The relationship certainly was broken down to the point of both sisters giving up on each other, but the way Episode 3 concluded did major work rebuilding their bridge. Jinx was able to see Vi as the sister that still wants to protect her, despite everything. Vi was able to see Jinx's connection to Isha as a stand-in for her old bond with Powder. It's further reinforced this episode, as she sees Jinx doing all the things for Isha that Vi would have done for Powder. It proves that even Jinx has someone who needs her and largely dissolves the foundation Vi had to put Jinx down. Vi's reasoning has only had Jinx's murders as a secondary reason to kill her(though they should be the primary) and has largely based her opposition to Jinx as "My sister is gone." Seeing evidence to the contrary leaves us in a reasonable relationship position for the events of this episode. As an aside, I don't see why you think Jinx's mental issues aren't being considered. Can you explain that one for me?

Isaac

The whole concept did just not work for me. The Silco that we know from season 1 would absolutely not stop his fight for Zaun because of a little apology letter. Silcos biggest problem with Vander was that he accepted a deal with Piltover to protect his kids. Something he only understood after years of having a daughter himself. And Jinx's and Vi's relationship was clearly broken after season 1. I'm not saying you can't tell the story how these two can build a new relationship with each other. I'm saying that should have been a story for a whole season because that needs time. Jinx is a terrorist at this point and clearly had major mental issues (thats also something season 2 kinda forgot about), why would Vi believe anything she says? If you all liked it, good for you. For me it just didn't hit the spot.

Namikaza

Young Silco having the same bangs as Jinx was so sweet to me. The fandom consensus is that he styled her hair to match his younger self.

jweher

Vander’s letter is so funny considering what he’s apologizing for is a MURDER attempt lmao. It’s a cute idea but I just cannot buy that anyone would forgive Vander because of that letter, let alone someone like Silco LOL.

jweher

The fundamental betrayal you talked about wasn't just Vander tryna kill Silco, but Vander wanna keep peace with Piltover because he was afraid of losing his daughters. Silco didn't understand Vander's action in S1 Ep3, but he finally understood Vander's perspective in Ep9 under Vander's status because of his own father-daughter relationship with Jinx.

Raphael

This episode was emotionally devastating. Going from the fight, to the flashback, to pitch black was brilliantly edited and composed. I also love how they take the time to portray the beast's vision beyond just blood trails. You can see how he perceives humans merely as a vague silhouette holding a heart and veins. It really communicates how hard Vander has to work to break through the bloodlust to recognize his daughters.

Berezant

In S1E3, Silco was still open to dialogue with Vander. Completely unbalanced terms, yes, but Silco even understood Vander's perspective when he explained it.

Isaac

I mean... without explicitly spoiling anything I'm not sure it's fair to call it naive when there was implications that the letter would absolutely have worked in a world that went a bit differently, so I'm not sure why you would try to be so absolute about that. I also think it's fairly clear that they aren't trying to say the letter alone would have changed everything, but rather it could have been a step in a better direction and at least brought them to the table to talk about it. Do you think forgiveness is unrealistic, or that you can't forgive an event so impactful, or are you just upset they didn't write it the way you thought would be better?

JadonTheEternal

I do agree it might be wishful thinking from Jinx. That's why she said "everything might been different". There's a very small chance of Silco forgave Vander, but extremely unlikely. Vi and Jinx's relationship on the other hand is repairable or salvageable even after season 1 finale because deep down the two sisters still have so much love for each other, but all the trauma, guilt, misunderstanding, miscommunication were the causes of their current relationship.

Raphael

I find the whole thing with the letter a bit naive. Does anybody actually believe if Silco would have found this letter he would have stopped his fight against Piltover and forgive what Vander has done? Vander tried to murder Silco! This betrayal changed Silco on a fundamental level. We literaly here Silco describe it in episode three, how he had to let his old self die to survive. I'm sorry but this little “Sorry for the attempted murder letter” is not gonna be enough to change that. It should not be enough! This whole episode to me was a bit of an undoing of the first season. When Jinx killed Silco in episode 9 she accepted that she is Jinx know. You can't just go back. Vi and Jinx both changed and the relationship they once had is gone and the damage is done. It was a very realistic part of this story and what made it that good and tragic.

Namikaza

One scene I really loved about this episode was the scene when Jinx read that Vander's apology letter to Silco. The letter basically mirrors what Vi wanted to say to Jinx and you can see Vi's hand almost reached out to Jinx, but she just couldn't at the moment. The sister dynamic in this episode was incredible imo.

Raphael

I need to see the results of that survey particularly that last question haha.

Camzeee

Projecting expectations unto reaction videos is uh.. not healthy i would say

Mathias Lorétan

The last question gonna cause a civil war😂

Raphael

Yea I saw the creator actually replied some constructive and respectful criticism on Reddit. Hopefully they can apply those lessons in the upcoming shows.

Raphael

Expectations ruin reactions my friend. Besides, if it's tears you're looking for I do believe you'll have that in abundance. My own could fill up a bucket at this point.

Teddy S

Violence is a cycle ey? Well put.

Teddy S

basically they watched 3 episodes a week, the same as us...

Wallas

Yeah, I think I agree with all of that, but the other episodes not having this problem leaves this one in last place, for me. Not so bad being last in a sea of winners :D

Isaac

Yeah I can’t disagree about the transitions to Mel’s scenes. But also it’s so far away and not in the same world that the vander of it all is happening so may be that makes it easier to me, so I really do feel she isn’t in the piltover right now. I don’t know. I think I agree. It’s just everything else so top notch that it covers that up for me. The scenes of Vi fighting Warwick/vander are some of the most beautiful things I’ve seen on screen. And the flashback just hits me every time. Seeing both Vi and powder in their mother. It’s just amazing.

alex otis

I expected more from this reaction. More feelings, i don't know. It seems it was just: ok. In my case, I broke down in that hug and couldn't stop crying. I had to stop for almost an hour to finish the episode. I still think it's one of the best scenes of the season. I think watching one episode a week doesn't help at all. They barely remember anything or know what's going on. They should have watched the series in acts, and not making it last more than three weeks. I think they really should have watched it just as the acts came out. But well, hopefully with the remaining episodes they won't be so lost.

Marc CM

The transitions between scenes are really rushed, but the animation studio also just got a bit carried away with the story and wanted to tell too much in these 9 episodes. If it had been 12 or 15 episodes, it would certainly have been better and the characters could have been given more interaction and dialog. However, they have already recognized this mistake, which means that they will pay attention to the pacing in the next show, which will most likely be set in Noxus.

Wednesdays of suffering with arcane...

Wallas

To me, one of Arcane's storytelling strengths was that each scene transitioned well into the next. Either by editing or logical story beat, each scene fits. NONE of the three Mel scenes had that cohesion. It really bothers me. I do agree about Caitlyn moments & Jinx/Vi scenes. Some of the best the series has to offer

Isaac

So true. I feel like Arcane season 2 is especially strong when it drifts into little side stories, which is why episode 7 is so incredibly good.

Robert H.

In retrospect, I think this episode is pretty strong because it has the perfect pacing. Episodes 3 and 6 told too much in too little time. I'm very curious about their reaction to episode 7.

Robert H.

Yea I don't think this is the weakest episode of the season. I don't wanna say which episode is weakest for me because of the spoilers, but this one was definitely emotional when I watched it the first time.

Raphael

I guess I’ll have to agree to disagree. I think it’s amazing storytelling with almost no weakness. I’ve watched it far too many times at this point and every time I’m still feeling all the same feels. Even the Mel and Caitlyn/Ambessa stuff is awesome. It puts all the involved parties in great spots for the rest of the season. Plus I’m a big time softy and two people finding their dad after all they both have been through. I can’t help but be swayed by that.

alex otis

Well they were still on episode 6 the day before yesterday, so I guess it will take them another week to finish the show.

Robert H.

I am a SOLDIER for Arcane out here, but I actually have this one as the weakest episode of Season 2. It feels odd to say because there are some all-time moments in this episode

Isaac

Haven’t watched yet. But this is the moment I’ve been waiting for. Across all reactors honestly. I truly think this episode is a masterpiece. Can’t wait to see how you guys react to this episode.

alex otis

Very few shows have ever made me happier than this one in this episode. From everything these two have gone through to finally be able to get that moment as a family again is everything I wanted in the show.

Cole

well, i just watched 3x04 of the sopranos so i don't think i'm in the right mindset to watch this right now. but just mention that that scene of the flashbacks is one of the most beautiful animated things i've ever watched and i cried my eyes out too.

sand_fl

Hey everyone, it's time for our second annual channel survey! You'll get to rate every show the girls have watched fully on this channel, from Avatar and Vikings all the way up to the current shows. I've also added additional questions this time around to have a more fleshed out survey, which I originally intended to do last year. You'll be able to answer on how you watch their videos, the type of series you like to see, and there's also a comment box to make suggestions for the channel. Finally, you'll also be able to give a few details about yourself if you so wish, so we can see where everyone's from, how old everyone is etc. I'll be posting this link on all 4 shows this week, and then I'll post the results 2 weeks from now across all four shows' comments sections. This year you won't just have the raw results; I'm also going to post in the comments some common trends that the survey shows (eg. Those who rate Frieren highly may tend to rate X anime highly as well). So, without further adieu, enjoy! https://freeonlinesurveys.com/s/Eay0QX2k

TeaDrinker3000

How ya doin? Did you finish the rest of the episodes? Need therapy?
