Haikyuu!! 1x25 Reaction

Haikyuu!! 1x25 Reaction

Yes, their is a difference in how Oikawa approaches the game and how the rest of his team does, the way Oikawa approaches it is not the healthiest nor is it deserving of a win IMO.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

oh and this was from the 24th of August, so a while after they said about animating everything.

Lau

did you see what they said at anime NYC? i might be coping but these was the exchange between the public attending at the haikyuu panel and the team: "We want more Haikyuu content in the future". "We hear you loud and clear. We also want more content. And we're working hard so stay tuned." I don't want to give false hope, but it also kinda makes sense that MAYBE there's something else after the next movie. But well, we will see :)

Lau

just a reminder to watch all the OVA'S!!!! the one youre supposed to watch before S2 is: Lev Appears!

Lau

No clue, I hope right away hahaha

JDU

Are they doing the 2nd season right away or do we wait ?

erwan

and its fridayyy

Vicente de Paulo Guimaraes Priante

The best thing about the ending is how the author shows where EVERY character ends up, not a single thing is forgotten… that’s what scares me the most :/

fe de

@wing-yi The president of IG was specifically asked "Will the time skip be adapted in the next movie" in which he replied "Yes, we are adapting everything" Now ppl can hold out hope and pick at his words but I just don't see it. it makes 0 sense for them to turn what is the bulk of what's left of the series into movies and then add an entire szn of anime for a time skip that should've actually been a movie imo also when those movies were announced on Haiku's official site they were advertised as 'FINAL" I feel like a lot of ppl forget that

KIMI

My biggest worry about the movie approach is that it won't fully capture the ending. Like will they also show the bonus chapters after the final chapter to show that my favorite character actually got the arguably the best ending. They've said they'll adapt everything but I don't see how its possible unless they do a secret currently unannounced shorter final season after the movies

HeavenlyR

That movie cut like 65% of the manga... The battle of the Garbage dump is wayyyy better than what we saw. Trust me

Karabo

So excited for season 2

JDU

I will never understand why people dislike Oikawa sm... Wdym Seijoh deserves to win without their captain this makes zero sense

sakurabraus

saw this a bit late and now i need to leave because sadly i do have a job, but i'll watch this tonight along frieren ❤️ also, i did remember watching lalaland on the theatre and i enjoyed because i adore musicals, but i agree, that scene broke me lol, i went with a friend from college and we both cried our eyes out.

MOVIE SPOILERS !!! Movie is a good but nothing great for me. The comparison with the slam dunk movie that came out last year was unavoidable to me and i left the theater feeling more disappointed than satisfied. After watching it, i went home and i read the match and the rest of the manga and that feeling grew even more. I know that it’s a movie and they had to cut a lot of stuff, but it’s really jarring compared to the previous matches where most of the characters have their moment. Here they made it solely a kenma movie (and they still managed to skip some great moments from him lol), kuroo was only relevant in the flashback and not as a player, yaku vs nishinoya non existent and don’t even get me started with kageyama cause i’ll get real mad. They cut 99% of his moments which are extremely important to his character and that emphasized just how strong he is. He was “caged” just like hinata, he had such a great oikawa parallel and a lot more, but none of it was animated. The fact that it lasted 1h 30m is also incomprehensible to me considering how most movies nowadays last 2 hours. I need to rewatch it again but i felt like it was repetitive at times with the cat/crows parallels and that they wasted time with showing, for example, a point from multiple perspectives like ppl watching from the tv. Sorry about the rant 😅

fe de

It was worth it!

fe de

The movies is good but it cut things short and deleted a lot of things that are essential to the writing of the match but overall it was an amazing movie

Salvatore

The production company said they intend to adapt the full manga but did they explicitly say it would be in the second movie? Two sequel movies were announced as part of "Haikyuu!! final" but that doesn't mean the second movie is the END end. Attack on Titan had final episodes/specials announced but they kept adding until it reached part 3, so I don't see why everyone is so adamant that the same can't happen for Haikyuu? Going by manga arcs there's literally no way to adapt the end of the manga in a single movie, so I hope I don't eat my words but I genuinely don't believe they'll give us a Promised Neverland S2 slideshow for the final arc... Especially not for such a profitable series like Haikyuu

wing-yi

There are some OVAs in this show, like extra episodes. I think before season 2 there's one you should watch. It's really fun 🤩

Balzhan

Well Slam Dunk fans waited for 30 years until we finally could watch somehow the final chapter of the manga adapted to a movie.

refo44

As someone else said his family name isn't Tadashi, it's Yamaguchi. In Japan he would be called Yamaguchi Tadashi and most people would call him Yamaguchi.

SpayMe

Tadashi is his given name, Yamaguchi is his surname/family name. But I second this! Learning the nuances in the way people address each other in anime (or any Japanese media) helps you understand their relationships more. and might indicate which characters just have poor manners lol

Elle

So Seijoh deserves to win except for Oikawa? lol

KIMI

I said it before and I'll say it again, if our boys "needed" to lose to learn a valuable lesson, than Oikawa also needed to lose because in my honest opinion, he too is not in the right space, behavior rise and mentally to deserve to win no matter how much work he puts into it. So him losing right after beating us was the perfect ending to this season for me and made the most sense IMO and I will never change my mind about that. It sucks that the rest of his team lost with him though because they didn't deserve to lose. Seeing my boys go through the motions was just hard to watch but I LOVED how they came out the other end stronger and ready to continue practicing, especially seeing Kageyama smile was so heartwarming, like that's my baby I would literally die for him. I'm glad the show brought the topic of college and the future into the show for our third years as well, but I love how Takeda Sensei didn't try to sway them toward any certain direction or choice, he just laid out the reality of the situation and left it to them to decide, proving once again that our boys truly struck gold by having him and Ukai as their coaches.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

It was so funny to see you saying goodbye to the third year boys since the beginning of the show lol😭 my boys aren't going anywhere ❣️

Wallas

really? I loved the movie and cried a lot tbh

RepliCant

There are several reasons why they chose to make movies, i guess the most important one is that making animated shows is expensive and not that profitable, unlike movies. The studio had financial issues, pandemic and everything. This + the success of demon slayer movie that created a new trend of adapting manga arcs into movies. If you ask me, it was the worst choice possible for haikyuu. I won’t get into details, we’ll talk when we get there, but i mentioned in an earlier episode that you might need to read the manga.

fe de

one advise that i can give you is to understand that japanese people reffers to other differently, someone calls you with your name, someone with a nickname, other with your family name, that's becuse everybody has different type of relationship and also is a form of respect that if we are friends or we just know eachother or you are younger/older than me im gonna call you accordingly. Tadashi is the family name, Yamaguchi is the name of our precious pinch server (tsukishima's friend). so when in future you will see character and don't know who they is being called, remember that there are some variability in their "names"

Termind Terguta

Again?! Never seen the first win!! Lol sorry got triggered there but if we’re talking box office we should really compare the Haikyuu movies to Demon Slayer which is basically the only anime recently that has been able to really milk out these theater releases. Mugen train made over $507 million worldwide. Haikyuu is easily my favorite piece of fiction outside of GOT but I just don’t see it making much sense for there to be more than 1 movie left or a movie and then a szn.

KIMI

@KIMI Hinata (DefensiveOnion) agrees with me. Sun has won over Moon again :D

Robert H.

They confirmed few weeks ago that the first movie made more than 150 mil US Dollars and that is just ticket sales I think. Merch and incoming Blu Ray Sales are not even icluded there. I will wager my soul to a devil with full confidence that we are getting a 3rd movie. Why would any sane collection of people say no to a trilogy of moives that will very likely net around/over 500 mil US Dollars in ticket sales. All the official comments about only two movies are not that descisive and can easily be overturned and the first movie made me even more confident that they are working toward a 3rd movie eventually

DefensiveOnion

I think there will be SOMETHING after that :D Could be a Season too ;)

Robert H.

the first movie (one thats already out) is watched after all 4 seasons. the second movie is the finale, so yeah its a bit similar to aot lol

deb

Yes I agree with that, I disagree with the company not adapting the end anyways and there being another movie afterwards

KIMI

Wait. So do you agree with me that the second movie can't adapt everything (in a good way)? :D

Robert H.

Oh I already know it’s not going to adapt everything lol I just know that it’ll still be the last movie

KIMI

@KIMI If the second movie is going to adapt everything, then it can't be a good adaptation. The movie would need Lord of the Rings running time.

Robert H.

I'm biased towards the movie bc all my favorite panels made it but you are right overall

KIMI

Girls react to the OVAs between the seasons

bondbond53

Because they did not adopt everything in the first film. Yell at me that obviously a movie will not include the full match but they cut too much. No matter how well it was animated or how great the music was I still left with a bitter taste in my mouth

bondbond53

Robert I gotta say your persistence that the second movie will not adapt everything even tho the production company has already stated that they will is kind of admirable? I also don't want to believe it but I'll take that over nothing I guess lol I honestly hope you're actually right just so we can keep getting Haikyuu content

KIMI

I wanted to watch Monster first precisely because of the movies. The wait will kill you. The bad news: The first Haikyuu Movie was in theaters in February and won't be available via streaming until next month. If the second Haikyuu movie comes out in February 2026, you won't get a chance to watch it via streaming until November 2026. And the really bad news: Haikyuu is getting the Attack on Titan treatment. The second movie can't adapt everything (in a good way). There has to be something after that and that means another wait.

Robert H.

You guys will definitely be rewarded for your interest in Tsukki. It's one of the best rewards of watching this show in fact.

Joey

Can’t believe you finished season one already 😆😆😆 the best is yet to come 🖤🧡

RG MG

There are some OVAs that fills in the gaps between some seasons. The studio had a lot of production issues during the making of the fourth season (it was during the dog days of the pandemic) and I think that contributed to their decisions on how they were going to conclude the animated adaptation of the series. There was a long long wait between season 3 and 4. They were letting the manga accrue chapters but things timed up poorly during the pandemic. It's not easy making an animated show that's for sure. I don't agree with cutting content for the movies. I understand that its probably a better financial move but it is disappointing. Edit: I also felt pretty bad about their hopes for Oikawa’s success knowing Ushiwaka

Shugoshin

Sadly, the movies are like aot. For me, it would have been way better to do 2 more seasons even. But I didn't watch the movie and I've heard good things about it so... In any case, they can't conclude the story well ( in my opinion at least) with only one more movie when it should have been an entire season so this is a disappointment. And yes you have to watch the 4 seasons then the movies

sakurabraus

OVA would make sense

JT

Reacting to OVA next? Or straight to season 2?

T T T
