Haikyuu!! 1x22 Reaction

Haikyuu!! 1x22 Reaction

EHHHH I remember being in middle school as well, I too suffer from OCD and Social Anxiety, so I relate to Oikawa. I remember having panic attacks almost every other month in Middle and High school, so much so that it still sticks with me, and there were certainly people I felt inferior too like Oikawa with Kageyama and yet I NEVER resorted to violence against any of those people, and even though it was just heat of the moment, the fact the he continues to verbally insult Kageyama still doesn't sit right with me especially since Kageyama literally didn't do anything to him.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

i would absolutely love for them to watch something thats female demographic aaahhhh and specially if its fruits basket!!

Lau

I love your reactions, and I can't emphasize enough how Fruit's Basket would be a perfecto show for you to watch, shojo anime, a lot of drama and very much character driven. Please consider putting it on a poll! <3

Who knows

HERE THEY AREEEEE. iwaizumi and oikawa are my favorite duo on the show alongside kageyama and hinata, and oikawa is my favorite overall character (iwa is goated tho definitely top 5 for me). i personally root for aoba johsai as a team as well tbh, they're so so good and deserve it. if i trust anyone to understand them it was definitely you guys

bella

i don't think it's that serious to be honest. kageyama literally did not care about that moment whatsoever, cause he didn't even realize what was happening, and kageyama himself doesn't hold that against him. oikawa is also, a child. just because he's a bit older than kageyama doesn't mean he's not a child. a child who's mental health was steadily declining mind you. i really don't think it's something you can hold against him

bella

Exactly, they are just bad at their jobs. Ukai Jr wouldn't let that fester and go on like that

Karabo

It’s not just middle school tho. He’s like that towards kageyama in middle school, in high school and after highschool. He doesn’t like Kageyama and him being immature at the time has nothing to do with it.

fe de

Same coaches who let the 'king' situation with Kageyama and his team get too far without trying to intervene!

Rahaf

Blue period <3

Lau

Iwa the fucking GOAT

Karabo

Greatest Villain ever lol

Karabo

@37:55 When I started wanting LM to watch Haikyuu, The way Lola specifically says "Tanaka my boy" was exactly in my vision and it has come to pass. LM and Haikyuu, match made in heaven.

Karabo

I get what you are saying but you forget the context that these are MIDDLE SCHOOLERS. I was immature in high school. Guys would fight over small things like snacks now imagine a passion they want to do forever?

Karabo

Love seeing Ushiwaka. Oh yeah I guess Oikawa backstory is nice as well. How smart of them to attach that to the Ushiwaka scene 😆

Shugoshin

Iwa-chan is so cool and good

Karabo

Yeah, that Oikawa backstory is rough. I'm still mad at the coaches on Kitagawa Daichi, it was up to Iwaizumi to resolve the Oikawa and Kageyama tension. These were middle schoolers and those coaches didn't realize how much he was going through.

Karabo

Szn 2 Oikawa tho??

KIMI

I don't dislike Oikawa, I think he's the perfect antagonist, but I could never bring myself to root for him because I truly don't think he deserves it, going off of just his behavior. Like I understand where his mental head space was but it will never sit right with me that he almost resorted to physical violence against a kid 2 years younger than him that was only trying to learn from him. Also that he continued to verbally berate Kageyama just because of his own personal feelings just bothers me, if it was just playful banter like with Kageyama and Hinata or even Oikawa and Iwa it would be different but it's literally just Oikawa has beef and Kageyama was just living his life, lol. If Kageyama has growing up to do so does Oikawa honestly. Knowing this part of their backstory just brings a whole new light into why Kageyama is always anxious around Oikawa.

Nyeisha Melvina Clark

Iwaizumi is such a good character, definitely top 5/3 characters in the whole show for me

Redback

the fact that you guys are so desperate for more tsukki lore just excites me for how much you get of him in season 2 !

deb

I love Oikawa, but I will always support my boys in matches against aoba johsai, it's personal

Wallas

I love how haikyuu handles the genius vs hardwork theme here and further on which kind of tells you what type of story haikyuu is. Blue period (a manga about art) handles the topic in a different way but it was just as awesome and impactful as haikyuu and I absolutely adore stories like these that explore a specific area of work and have you explore how different people view certain things as emotions overwhelm them and whether it is positive or negative emotions doesn’t really matter since it’s all part of the experience of art and sports and life.

Salvatore

Of course I meant as a mentor. I’m not comparing Suga and Oikawa, they have two different situations. But Suga was upset that he wouldn’t play as much anymore and yet he didn’t let those feelings hinder his relationship with Kageyama. He’s very mature for his age, not a lot of people would have done that. That’s why I’m happy Kageyama found someone like Suga.

fe de

If Milena loses the bet, she watches Lord of the Rings again. And you film the reaction :). Win win all around, I'd say.

ODIS

As a senpai yes, Suga was perfect mentor for Kageyama. But Oikawa possessed that inferiority complex because he was very competitive and volleyball was something he loved very much. That side of him is what pushed him to become this good. Suga kinda feels more like a highschool that is playing volleyball just as a sport. Obviously he wants to win and all but we can see the different level of dedication between the two. Which is why Suga is able to put away any feelings of inferiority in order to support and help Kageyama grow. While Oikawa sees Kageyama as a legitimate rival and opponent.

Danny

Season 2 is my personal favorite. It's the perfect continuation of Season 1. I'm really excited to see their reaction to it, especially because characters who have had less screentime up to now take center stage.

Robert H.

This show is all payoff Iwaizumi best boy

space colon

i cannot wait for season 2 omfg and the openings...

Lau

I've mentioned it before, but it's really hard in Haikyuu to be against the opposing team. The author always finds ways to illustrate the efforts and motivation of the opposing team.

Robert H.

Loved this episode, looks like every evil murderous villain can have a backstory even Oikawa.

Jay

On one hand, it's late and I need to sleep. On the other, you have posted a new Haikyuu video and therefore I shall watch it first and then sleep

Chi

This is probably the best episode of the season!! I don’t blame Oikawa for that reaction, he was young and his feeling are very understandable and relatable but his backstory always makes me extremely glad that Kageyama found someone like Suga. While it’s true that he’s older than Oikawa back then, it’s his kind hearted nature that made him push his feelings of inferiority aside and helped Kageyama grow up, gave him advices and everything. I don’t want to get into the natural talent vs hardwork issue because the author touches upon it multiple times throughout the show and better than this episode.

fe de

Here we see the start of the reign of terror of Oikawa. He was about to decapitate Kageyama and was stopped by Iwaizumi and escaped jail. But what Iwa-chan didnt know was that this gave an opportunity for Oikawa to give himself time to be more powerful, he learnt manipulation to create his army and the triple homo serve, Oikawa realized that "6 heads are better than 1" Nothing can stop him now.

Lixien

kinda way too invested in a book atm so i'll probably save this one for another day, but still looking forward to it ❤️

sand_fl

"Thursday and Sunday" LOL.

T T T

omg one of my favourite episodes, can’t wait to watch it in an hour!
