Same can be said for ANY adaptation, we were given a kickass movie worth watching :) better than most adaptations

I would say the original manga's story is much better and the movie really compressed too many volumes of the manga into two hours, making it feel a bit rushed, and as a result, the audience didn't have enough time to empathize with some characters. However, I think it's still one of the few decent Hollywood adaptations of Japanese manga.
