2024-07-19 21:26:06 +0000 UTCYeah, that's why I said "one day" 🤣 Season 2 is already confirmed to be aired in 2025, and time will pass fast anyway. Also, just fyi, hyping the latest animes is good for the production too, the production team including VAs already acknowledged there are some overseas fans for this series, and I believe one of the many reasons some people started watching it was also because of the reactors. Unless it's a huge series like most popular manga, waiting for some seasons to be adapted first before watching it could be risky, it could be canceled anytime especially if the original novel series ended. It's very rare to have continuous anime adaptation after the original series ended, whether it's manga or novel, nearly impossible unless it's as huge as AoT or Demon Slayer. That's why many anime series don't have full adaptation until the end.

If you still want to see them a little bit more I recommend checking out HxH Openings and Endings from 1999 version. Many of these songs are great and I still listen to it nowadays. The visuals fit perfectly with the songs and you get to see the crew hang out more than 2011 version. There is a playlist on youtube by a channel called Kuropiko btw. Totally recommend!

If I understand correctly, you're saying LM will (probably) exclude those shows from a short series poll if Monster wins over Haikyuu, but they'll (probably) include those shows in a short series poll if Monster loses, yes? I would hate to vote for Haikyuu (because I wouldn't be interested in those reactions) for the purpose of getting to vote on certain shows in a poll only to find out they weren't an option (or to find out that the next show won't be decided by a poll). I'm super glad that they watched Ranking of Kings, but they never had a poll for it. Same thing could happen again, only this time, perhaps it's not a show I'm interested in. It seems a bit risky to vote that way, imo.

They have been quite clear they’re ending with two movies, one of which has already been released - we Haikyuu fans rightly think this is a bad idea because they’re going to rush it - but that doesn’t change that they’re still DOING that - meaning all that is left to come out is one single movie. It is not remotely a knock against Haikyuu! that it’s ‘ongoing’ because one day they’ll have to watch one extra two hour singular thing.

I think it’s a combination of things: it’s a seinen manga and not a shonen and it’s not mainstream, so the budget is way less. Because the story is great, they didn’t have a vision and they basically just animated the manga panels. Of course, the message of the story is still there and it’s still understandable but i think it doesn’t hit as much as it does in the manga because the road to get there is a bit shaky. Having said that, i still think they would love it and they should definitely watch in the future.

Haikyuu gets the movie "The Final Part 2" in Fall 2025/Winter 2026, which can't adapt the whole story. So in 2027 there will be another movie or even a last season in case the production team decides to adapt the rest of the story as well. And with Vinland Saga Season 3, House of the Dragon Season 3, The Boys Season 5, Frieren Season 2, The Last of Us Season 2, The Bear Season 4, Invincible Season 3, One Piece Season 2, Fallout Season 2... we already have many ongoing shows. They also prefer finished shows. 2. Monster is almost 20 episodes, so 10 weeks, shorter. 3. ridleymoon: "It would be very funny if they watched 70+ episodes of Monster wearing Karasuno High T-shirts." 4. Haikyuu sometimes has matches that take place over several episodes. Due to the 2 episodes per week release, we will sometimes see a match between two teams for a whole month. Reasons why we should vote Haikyuu instead of Monster: 1. Haikyuu is the more upbeat show. And with The Bear, Arcane, Squid Game, ... there are a lot of shows that are rather dark in the next months. Haikyuu would balance things out a bit. 2. Monster has a very slow pacing and takes a while to build up momentum. 3. They already have Haikyuu T-shirts and they have interest in volleyball. 4. Monster is an old anime. (Seems to be a reason for some :D) 5. We could push them instead of taking the other top 3/4 anime from the last Short Anime Poll to take crime-thriller anime in the next poll as compensation for not getting Monster, e.g. Banana Fish, Odd Taxi, Pluto, Erased and Psycho Pass.

That's the reason no studio has yet try to adapt a manga like 20th Century Boys for example. You are right Monster has a weird pacing and is definitely not for everyone but even so the story is a masterpiece. But you are right about the adaptation.

LM usually aren't interested in the quality of the animation or action/fight scenes. Have you ever heard them commenting about animation? For example, in AoT, have you ever heard them discuss if they really cared about the difference of animation between Wit and Mappa? If you have watched their reactions, you can tell the type of anime they have enjoyed more and which aspects of those shows they enjoy: AoT, Mob Psycho 100, FMA, Ranking of Kings, Vinland Saga, Violet Evergarden, Frieren... For example I recommend rewatching the discussions of HxH episodes 37 or 38 when Killua visits Kujira Island. There the girls clearly say what they consider a waste of time and what they really care about in a show like HxH. I remember particularly that discussion but they had mentioned several times about their preferences. Of course I could be totally wrong but considering their shows and anime they had reacted so far I doubt it.

I think a lot of the deeper themes within the show and development of characters reveal themselves within the battles. I think the way the anime handles death and regret not only physically but as an idea it self deviates a lot from a typical battle shonen as well. Different strokes for different folks tho so I'm not here to fault you! I just think there's a lot more depth to the show than some on this channel would wanna admit.

But for me, it's just an okay, average shonen, a tier B anime, exactly the same as Demon Slayer, Black Clover or Hell's Paradise. Those are shows I enjoy watching sometimes but not the type I would rewatch or read the manga. For JJK I enjoyed S1 , but S2 really didn't work for me, except maybe to some extent the Hidden Inventory arc of S2. I'm planning to watch also S3 even if S2 was so disapointing. Even if I'm not a total hater, I admit here on this Patreon that I'm really vocal against JJK because to be honest it's not the type of show that girls will enjoy, and JJK fans are usually very overhyped in promoting it.

I'm hoping that the 3rd season can win me back, but I've been told that I won't like the rest of the series if I didn't enjoy the 2nd season. I wouldn't be upset if LM watched JJK, but there are many other shows that I'd personally prefer and shows I think they'd probably prefer. If we see JJK as a poll option, I think that means they're open to it. If it's not an option, perhaps they'll reconsider in the future.

Def have their problems but really enjoyed them. Demon Slayer not so much but the animation makes it up for it alot. But my eye is Monster if it ever wins a damn poll. 2024-07-16 20:41:09 +0000 UTCSorry, but they are not the same. HxH has better storytelling and character development. The plot of HxH is one of the best ever written for a shonen. HxH is not really focused on the action but on the characters. For example, one of the best fights in all of HxH was Gon vs. Pitou, and the action in that fight was almost irrelevant. In contrast, in JJK, you have hours of meaningless and unnecessary action scenes that are good animation but can be skipped because they are irrelevant to the story or the characters. Even several fights with random monsters who nobody really cares. The plot is also too predictable; even the "plot twists" are pretty obvious. It has some interesting characters, but they don't have any meaningful growth or psychological development since the first season. Especially the so-acclaimed Shibuya Arc was a great disappointment.

I know a lot of ppl in this channel dislike it and that's fine but it does have some pretty interesting and strong narratives that I feel are heavily overlooked by ppl who can't get past the battle shonen aspect of it. I know its power scaling fandom online doesn't do it any favors either but I really think the character dynamics would interest the girls a lot more than ppl on this channel would like to think

2024-07-16 20:16:48 +0000 UTCit is a 1:1 adaptation of the manga, some people would say it’s a good thing without considering that manga and anime are two different mediums which require different approaches. The result is a soulless adaption with a sterile animation and horrible pacing. As a big fan of the manga and all of naoki urasawa’s works, the anime simply doesn’t do the story justice. Unlike Pluto, which is a great adaptation.

Another reactor that I follow is watching it right now, and it's been such a nice feeling to re-experience the joys of Natsume. It gives me Frieren vibes in a way.

2024-07-16 19:58:51 +0000 UTCThe girls usually don't care for the animation. Demon Slayer and JJK are just the same kind of show. I watched all the current seasons of both. I don't understand how some people try to defend JJK by comparing it to Demon Slayer when they are both similar action oriented standard shonen and have the same flaws . Honestly, maybe they will win a poll because they are so hyped and popular, but they are not the type of show they will really enjoy. Both are too action-oriented, too predictable, and lack character development. My Hero Academia started pretty well I really loved it, but unfortunately, the last seasons have declined.

I suggested waiting at least a year before including FMA in a hypothetical future poll, but people said other shows should get a chance. Which is fair. There were a few haters though, which was a shame (I enjoy the original FMA). I'm not familiar with HxH 99. Is it frowned upon, or does the community think positively about it?

I will be happy with either Monster or Haikyuu both are awesome. Maybe I will vote for the options will less votes because I really like both shows. Also if you decide to read the manga of HxH after this It will be insteresting to know your opinions and discussions. Or I don't know If you prefer to be patient and wait someday for the adaptation to anime.

But considering how niche it is, i dont see much hope for it to win in a poll against a more recent and popular show. If thats the case, Haikyuu, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia would work. I would even settle for Demon Slayer just so they can experience the animation.

Hope you consider it for the long show polls one day since I doubt you’ll be having it on after this show is finished. One day I’ll bribe or keep praying that Lola and Milena will try out and react to one of the highest ranked anime of all time on AOT or even higher level. That show is Legend of the Galactic heroes but it’s old and very few have seen it but it’s got a disgustingly high ranking for a reason I would hope it gets more love one day. Until then I hope it will be a choice people pick eventually. Without spoiling it’s a show like Star Wars, game of thrones and Star Trek with politics, philosophy and history mix and amazing characters. Please consider this show at least cus I know you would like it. (Also there’s 2 movies made to watch/react to before you start the main show)

I damn near lost when I found out about togoshi his health and the idea it’s a series that might never have a conclusion but in the end being grateful I experienced the characters and story at that time unique to me.
