2024-06-25 07:45:05 +0000 UTCSeason 1 has a self-contained story. Everything after that is terribly unpopular, simply because the story doesn't develop any further. Hence the restriction. Why watching a worse version of the story of Season 1 over and over again?

I'll admit that the 2nd season wasn't as good, and I haven't seen the 3rd season yet (so idk if it gets better), but it's not often that I see a show request include a caveat like that. The only other example I can think of is Promised Neverland, which has a 2nd season that is waaaaaay worse than the 2nd season of Psycho Pass.

2024-06-22 17:28:31 +0000 UTCToka releases about 3 chapters a month, 36 a year. We currently have 70 out of 160 chapters for a second season. So we still need 90 chapters, i.e. about 3 years of regular publication. However, since Toka has been working with WIT Studio since the announcement of the movie, he has paused the release of further chapters for now. When the movie is released next year, it will take 2026, 2027 and 2028 to create enough content for a second Season. 2 year of anime production and we are in 2030. Toka just likes to get lost in side stories. There aren't many anime that squeeze 160 chapters into 24 episodes where the story feels complete and right.

2024-06-22 07:17:22 +0000 UTCClarification: Season 1 adapted the first 155 chapters, but left out many subplots that were then adapted into Treasure Chest of Courage (TCC). In addition, TCC 10 adapted chapters 156 to 165 and gives season 1 a finale to all storylines. As you said yourself, episode 23 feels pretty open-ended with Ouken. Season 2 will take a long time to come, if it comes at all. The manga is currently at Chapter 230, so with any luck we'll get a second season in 2030. But a movie has been announced that will probably come next year. My guess is that author Sōsuke Tōka is working on the movie since he stopped releasing more chapters since the movie was announced last year.
