At this point he's still wavering, like Netero said, between human and ant. Spoilers: Once he remembers her his attitude changes again, you can even see how pre-Komugi he tells Pouf to do whatever he wants with the prisoners once he's done interrogating them, but post-Komugi he orders him to release them once he's done.

Especially when Pitou felt how the king felt when Dragon Dive injured her. She knew how much Komugi meant to her and even said the king wouldn't be himself without Komugi.

As pitou thought meruem would lose himself without komugi, i think pouf thinks meruem would lose himself with her.
