Milena has seen part of the first film a couple times. So you’re both kind of right. I would LOVE them watching Panet of the Apes trilogy. Many tears would be shed. It would be wonderful.

2024-05-21 16:46:30 +0000 UTCIt's really funny for me personally whenever natto is mentioned as a kind of joke in anime or whatever, where someone watching it doesn't know what natto is. Because I was lucky enough to learn about it/the cultural context through reading manga at a young age lol: specifically Fullmetal Alchemist. There were always gag comics in the back of the volumes with little joke stories. And in one of them the author said that Winry's grandma Pinako has hair like she does because it's actually natto gathered together. XD And it came with a little text box explaining what natto was and so on. That image has stuck in my brain since lmao.

Maybe because I guessed it would happen the second she started translating for him, so that made it feel predictable to me? Idk. I'll see how I feel as the season goes on, this is as far as I've seen.

You see him several more times this episode just observing, I'd say it's fair to assume he's relaying whatever he's seeing to Torunaga. I've not watched beyond episode 4 btw so that's all conjecture on my part and no spoilers.

I loved all the interactions between Mariko and John, the bond they form feels pretty natural and well developed. Also the gift exchange with Fuji was the most wholesome thing ever
