I'd say that show has every lady drawn in a sexy way but I don't think it detracts from their characters. I guess I just don't see a woman being sexy as a detraction from her character. Do you also consider it fan service when Escanor takes his shirt off to fight? Not to say that you should, or that there isn't way more male orientated fan service in anime. What actually annoys me is when every female character falls in love with the main character and their personality revolves around loving the main character. I'll take a dozen upskirt shots and excessive boob jiggle over an awful story like that.

It's not done anywhere close to equally in CG, with the men left unaccosted by it, whilst practically every female character has dedicated artists for the jiggle physics and have the "T&A" on display at every opportunity. It's literally treating them as objects, which as a female viewer makes me and many many others feel utterly ick. From a writing point of view though the show falls off massively after season 1 imo, and even then I think other series like Legend of the Galactic heroes do a much better job at truly exploring the themes CG tries to explore.

Shaiapouf following his own vision of what the king is is something very obvious but it does not stop at that, He is a man of duality and what you're doing( and clearly a lot of people here) is see one concept of this duality and ignore the other completely, you can see pouf being manipulative and ignoring the king's wishes which is a selfish act but the intentions behind this are good , he loves the king more than anything and he's doing this thinking it's the best root for the king to follow, again he does realize that his actions are treason and he does feel guilt he said it in episode 129 and have hated himself for going in a room where the king is not. you can look at it in a way that his duty is in one side and his love that's making him feel guilt is in the other side of this, So please can you please explain to me how can a sociopath ask for punishment after realizing everything he has done until now was a mistake that just took love out of the king's heart( he felt the king's exact feeling as if the emotions were forced upon his heart, therefore him realizing how greatly his king loved this woman and he never had a chance in this, in conclusion he asked for punishment 134

Honestly I’ve never seen someone have your particular takes on Pouf, it is genuinely interesting. It’s been pointed out that Poufs ‘love’ isn’t for Meruem the person, but his own selfish internalised ideal of what the King ‘should be’. Ironically, despite all his declarations of loyalty, his actions are the most disloyal of all the Guards. Directly disobeying the Kings wishes in order to protect his vision of “a new kingdom, for the King and me”, by trying to kill the one person he has shown affection towards and stop his growth. I really like Pouf, but I like him for what he is: the ultimate Manipulator (in both Nen category and personality). The disparity between what he claims is for the benefit of the King and what he actually does only becomes more clear as the arc comes to a close, so I don’t know how you’ll continue to argue this position, but I am looking forward to seeing it, with all due respect 😚

It’s more of a feeling of obsession or infatuation with a person than a true emotional connection. They would use their ‘love’ as a means of manipulation or serving themselves. If that doesn’t describe Poufs feelings for Meruem, I don’t know what does. Sociopathy is a spectrum, and extreme emotional outbursts are a trait often associated with sociopathy. Poufs an amazing character, and also definitely sociopathic in nature.

Gon's conception of morality isn't something that he feels from a place of emotional empathy, they're just empty platitudes that he's absorbed from the people in his life. We're all extremely lucky that his formative experiences were with kindhearted people like Mito. This is the real reason why Gon can forgive heinous murderers or do other things that don't comport with someone who is as strongly moral as Gon appears. The MOMENT Gon finds something interesting, or personally compelling he's immediately willing to disregard safety or justice. Everyone praises Gon for his ability to stand up for what he believes but that's a misdiagnosis. He's only able to do that because he has lacks any genuine investment in most of the moral choices. He's larping.

He belittles and plans to do away with his fellow Royal Gaurds at the slightest sign they may not be good for his own goals, and the ants he gives nen abilities to went away with him expecting them to be killed. Even his care for The King is a twisted kind of caring, as his only concern is for his idealised version of who "The King" really is. He cares nothing for Meruem, only the all powerful Ant King that will subjugate the planet. Calling him a sociopath for that sort of zealousness is entirely appropriate

2024-04-30 01:05:04 +0000 UTCi really don't like the "he's a sociopath" talk, i get that he's trying to kill someone close to the king and he's trying to deny the king's feelings but while pitou and youpi's feelings can give them a life without the king in it, pouf has not shown anything in that regard, his life is the king's success and he sees nothing in life other than that, for pouf, while empathy and honor in Pitou and Youpi provide other chances to grasp value in life other than meruem's success. his very specific idealization gave him nothing to take value in other then the king, therefore kumogi's existence deprives him of his ONLY purpose, the only thing he cares about.
