HH Episode 99 Reaction

HH Episode 99 Reaction

Comments

It's not a spoiler if that's how they crafted the show

Timothy Smith

I agree with Chibi Sphere. SPOILER They're reactors who discuss the episode so its natural to want to save an important conversation, like the purpose of Komugi and her role in the show to the moment it actually happens in the show WHICH IS IN TWO EPISODES ITS REALLY NOT THAT SERIOUS. Im on the same boat as you hellios6 when it comes to 90% of the intros and outros, I think its fine that they saw how the king looks or bisky back in greed island or if they see ikalgo and meleron in the outro. Thats fine. But this outro heavily focuses on Komugi and the King, its not a 'teaser', its spelling out the whole king development arc. Which is FINE, because thats exactly what the show does in ep102 when the narrator says "The king had no idea how much this girl would affect his fate" or something like that. It wants you to expect that, I know that. Instead of hastening that conversation tho, why not have it in due time? Just very shortly afterwards? When it comes to the outro, I dont think the show placed it in episode 99 because they want you to see it then, I think they placed it there because it just so happens to be the middle of the arc so it was time for a song change

Rahaf

that's simply not true, they went in blind and were spoiled more than once by the intro, so some of us are attempting to prevent the same thing from happening with the outro.

R L

waiting till 102 is fine imo

Chibi Sphere

Laughing so hard rn at people who think outros or intros spoil anything LOL

hellios6

hellios6

Outro doesn’t spoil anything. Besides, that’s the way the show was made (to be watched with the intro and outro). Don’t listen to the comments and just watch it the way the director wanted you to watch it. I also suggest having someone read the comments before you guys do as some people on here love to let everyone know that they’ve seen this show before.

nestlerowo

More like someone's never heard a pun.

Shivering King Banana

Someone’s never owned a home lol mice seek shelter during colder months indoors, it’s not exactly her fault

Mike Donohue

It's just a few episodes, you can skip the outro. Tho I know you guys like to theorize what could happen and it's ultimately your decision if you watch it or not

Ale

They have been spoilered a lot from the intro, even if they say that it didn't happen it happened. It would have been better if they had skipped it, we would have had better reactions to some scenes. Skipping the outro it's easier, when you say that you have to wait I have a question...wait what? They barely pay attention to the outro 💀 what is meaningful in that outro it's just that spoiler

Yū Nishinoya

Have any of you watched next episodes? They are going to speculate a lot about it, now instead of speculating about a not necessary spoiler in the outro they'll talk about the actual episodes, as usual...how bad. You do not compromise because you don't care, it's just a childish behavior

Yū Nishinoya

I see the skipping of the outro has caused the comment section to explode

Darrach

It's only a significant spoiler if you know what's happening. If you go in blind, you don't really notice much.

Billy Overlord

It's not hard to skip an outro. Eventually they would watch it anyways. So why not just skip? This is so annoying. Why does it matter on that front if they watch it now or at 102 or at 108? For spoiler's sake, 108 should be the first episode to watch it on.

Sauli

I think the outro is easily more spoilery than the intro, the intro hinting at Kite's death is only really a big spoiler in hindsight and if you notice Kite is being replaced in Gon's mind by Pitou and not a monkey lol. But the outro legit just shows you these are the bad guys on this side and these are the good guys on the other. Skipping the intro would have taken too much work in terms of synchronization for the full reactions and for way too many episodes, but skipping the outro is easy and should only need to be done for 2 more episodes (Anyone saying wait until 108 is going overboard I think)

HeavenlyR

my beloved shaiapouf scene got cut ):

Salvatore

Hxh comment sections have become so exhausting

Rahaf

considering the outro is less "spoilery" than the intro, and they have been perfectly fine not getting spoiled and having fun theorizing with watching the intro (which people said they would get spoiled on in the first place lmao news flash they didnt, and even say they didnt learn anything from it in the discussion here), AND the show creators intentionally puts this outro at this specific point, not at ep 102 or 108 or whatever some people are saying who think they could create a better viewing experience than the anime director and staff team themselves... ignorance is bliss fellas. its fine to watch it girls its literally nothing different than any of the other intros and outros youve ever watched. hell even the outros showing the phantom troupe members and some of kurapikas comrades (before they show up) is more spoilery according to the same people saying to not watch the outro here, and what do ya know, they didnt get spoiled on anything in those either, just "oh thats cool who is this and this and this and i wonder what they can do and how this will affect kurapika" and such theorizing based on 0 knowledge. bottom line its the same as any other outro, if they had no problems with the others, they will have no problems with this folks.

Toidleboy

"small glimpses" you say??, both the intro and outro have significant spoilers, I don't know how anyone can see otherwise.

R L

I think it's totally fine to watch it now there's nothing wrong with small glimpses into the future it doesn't spoil anything concrete

Mal

Outro watching: TLDR - 75% Don't watch until 109/110 25% Don't watch until 102 0% Watch next episode. I'm a proponent of getting in blind but I like when Lola and Milena try to theorize about what's going to happen. I'm torn. I'm 75% not watch it until 109-110 because I think they will probably get hints from the outro how characters will develop.

Kevin Inoj Perez

yea that's true, a "natural" watch would have them see the outro now, but I see them not watching it as the lesser of the two evils.

R L

Wouldn't going in blind be watching the outro since they wouldn't have people telling them not to? They definitely shouldn't watch it though.

Shivering King Banana

I say it's better to not watch the outro for now - the show is so much better when you go in blind.

R L

I mean they've watched the wire so dense stories with a lot happening shouldn't really be an issue. I think this show could either add more texture to the political stuff or hone in more on character feelings but this part of the arc is doing both kind of haphazardly so it's getting too diluted. There's a reason the pacing of this arc is a regular complaint. If it weren't for the high peaks in the latter half it wouldn't have been remembered as fondly. It's also not helping that each episode is only like 20 minutes and half of it is just dry exposition. I'm not surprised they're not remembering as much.

Veya

Clean your house Lola having one mouse is gross multiple is just nasty.

Shivering King Banana

Watching the outro for ep 102 and on should be fine

LKosaka

There is literally no benefit to watching the outro rn. Just wait a few episodes and you can speculate the exact same without getting stuff spoiled.

Cole

Ok I removed it

Max__

Yeah I would at least edit out the spoiler that you say would be a huge one.

HeavenlyR

Obvious solution was to listen to the ED song, but refrain from watching it for a few eps. The ED's visual is nothing special. It's literally just a still slide that spoils new characters and certain powers. (ruining reveals)THERE'S NO ARTISTIC MERIT TO IT. Animes do this with their OP/EDs all the time when the staff is being lazy / uncreative. There's some real room temp IQs in here that suggested it's okay to watch the ED because "It's in the show, and it's how it's meant to be consumed." As if that makes things any less of a spoiler. It's just so dumb.

SoClose

spacing out the spoilers doesn't really prevent them from seeing what you said, fyi.

Stephen

Thing is, they said way earlier (regarding HxH 'intro spoiler') that they have a lot of fun speculating about things that haven't happened yet by analyzing all the visual 'spoilers'. That fun is taken away from them by people assuming that everything is better experienced fully blind; the showrunners put the ED there for a reason, you know. Now, instead of normal speculating, they are now speculating about what they're not supposed to speculate, which is far more annoying to me lol (*doesn't help that people here all over the place suggesting different episode number).

Muhammad Yesa

heyy guys for the episodes left of this arc and I like many others here think most of those episodes need to be watched together. I understand you guys don't have that much time to record but I suggest maybe having a couple of days picked out to binge just the rest of this arc and still post them separately. I really think watching it separately will make the arc less enjoyable, to me it would feel like watching a movie and pausing it multiple times. however, I do get that yall addressed this before so if you can't ofc that's fine, I hope you still think the arc is as good as we hyped it up to be lmaoo

StrawHat

hyori ittai my beloved

Arnobio

I personally would prefer if they don't watch the outro. It's easier to skip and it's more fun when they get surprised by new characters. Plus it's only for a couple episodes.

Zach

I think this arc in general loves to foreshadow. The info is there but battles are getting time dilated and the characters are getting attacked non-stop. Neither the characters nor the audience have enough space to think or memorize, but it's very rewarding if you can.

Rare

Imo just watch the outro from the next episode, it doesn't spoil anything crazy, it just drops hints as to where things are going, like most intros/outros do. Also it'd be more fun to watch you two speculate when you have less of an idea of what'll happen.

Blessèd

Don't watch the outro untill ep 108 at least, this part of the show is known to have several plots and twists that are very important for the last part of this arc, and guess what, the outro spoils these twists. I know, they're just images, but still, they're very suggestive, anyone can guess what will happen by seeing them, it's not that hard. The show lose a lot of momentum if you already know what will happen. It's still good and you can still appreciate it, but don't you agree that the best experience is to watch it blind and be surprised? I don't get why some people here in the comments don't understand that. It's just a few episodes guys, it's not that hard to wait for the girls to watch the outro.

Max__

For real, I was looking forward to the outro But if they will be waititng, then 102 is fine to watch it But now they'll just be more confused because everybody is giving different episode numbers

Miss Mewiththat

No, at 102 is already fine. The narration literally telegraphs HARD what the trajectory of that plotline goes. This week's reaction was dryer because of them skipping it and not much really happened in the ep that wasn't mechanical. I like more character and thematic theorizing.

Veya

I think it's fine if they watch the outro, just pointing out the difference between not skipping the intro and not skipping the outro.

Veya

I could understand people fighting for them to watch the intro but the outro? It's mainly just sliding pictures of spoilers lol

HeavenlyR

Honestly just watch the outro from the next episode on. I mean intro spoils far far more.

Veya

You know you got a bad hand dealt when even your own species are fighting against your better interest. It's also really interesting to contrast the hierarchies of power between the humans and the ants. Our human bureaucracy and military control working against us again. Another thing, I also think it's interesting that Knov is reading "The Secret Garden" given the nature of his nen ability. I just think that's neat. Anyway, I think it's the most logical choice to skip the outro for a bit until like, 104 (imo). I think the episode number is comprisable between 102 and whatever else more than that. It's a good flow of info if you skip for a bit. You already have a lot on your plate to think about.

Rare

Honestly in my opinion it will be more fun if they don't watch the outro until episode 103. If they watched it before, they would waste a lot of time theorizing about a character that hasn't even appeared yet. At least let the character really appear so they can be spoiled in the outro about the importance of the character in the plot lol

MrChuuni

Well this is where we enter opinion territory. I don't believe there's a right answer. I'm just looking at the situation where everyone can feel satisfied.

ODIS

just watch the ending, its part of it.

Koosen

Gon's fight was a little too long I agree, but an important aspect that you missed is why that ant is following and testing him...

Wallas

Yeah sometimes the anime skipped some stuff from the manga. Some of them are small details so is not really that big of a deal and I can see why since this arc is already so damn long. About the ED, yeah it has some spoilers IF you start analyzing it… so it could be a spoiler only if you stop and start picking it apart :P

Jack SV

just watch the outro... its okey

Monica Gomez

In Episode 95 when Gon gets his nen back; The group is eating and sees Diego on TV being Manipulated. Morel says Colt believes the nation's celebration will be a 'screening' and the group isn't sure what the King will be doing with the Nen awakened humans. It's literally only two lines of vague hypothesizing that is then brought up 3 episodes later. I feel like this happens a lot throughout the arc where information is planted and then brought up again so much later that you've already forgotten about it. Also in my personal opinion, episode 108 would be a good ep to watch the outro thematically speaking but I dont think it matters too much.

Antonio

this is a good assessment, I am gonna be daring and assume 100% of viewers here watched hunter x hunter, did not skip this intro and still enjoyed the show just fine, not like this is a One Piece opening

Giancarlo Martinez

Definitely right to skip the outro, advised to only watch from ep 108 on

sulikiller 2

I say no because I do not compromise

Billy Overlord

you can watch the ending from episode 102 (you could watch it from the next one but that's ok)

Wallas

Skipping the intro until episode 91 would telegraph the king's birth at the exact episode lol... Skipping the outro for three episodes is pretty short and there's nothing specifically on their radar. Not the same thing at all.

Veya

Or wait a few episodes, then watch. And we all win.

ODIS

Quien fue el miserable que les recomendó no ver el ending

Alex Eduardo

i absolutely love this outro, it’s hands down my favourite out of all hxh intros and outros. the song is amazing. which is simply why i’m inclined to tell you to just watch it, but i also understand if you’d rather skip it because it is a bit spoilery

TheeEnglishKnight

Ah, I was looking forward to you seeing the outro, it's one of my favorites of all time. I understand though, I think at least a certain point needs to be reached. Again, I do think it is amazing.

Nina

They will watch it, but why not satisfy also the group that considers it spoilery and wait for a few episodes? I vote waiting until 106 and then watching it.

ODIS

lol, they didn't watch the outro because ppl told them not to? Why watch it at 103, then? They might as well not watch the outro until the 120s with all the teases lol

Tony

@billy overlord Yes! We demand a re-assesment of this decision!

Harfie

@veya well for the intro they just would have had to skip until the king's birth, which would have been episode 91 (which would have been skipping 15 episodes). To me that was a much bigger spoiler than the fun, short lived anticipation in this outro.

Harfie

I mean if it's only for a few episodes, then I suggest not watching the outro (like until 108), obviously. Like that, it's a win win. You'll still get to eventually watch the outro, and at the same time no one will feel like you spoiled yourselves. Anyone agree?

ODIS

Watch the ending, its fine

Eero Mustonen

Honestly, 108 always felt like the perfect place to watch the ED to me personally, It actually feels like that's even where it should've changed officially when the show was airing. Everything falls into place so perfectly the moment before the episode ends, but by 103 you have all the pieces, so it's mostly alright to watch there too.

ArtficialFlvrz

Well whether you watch it or not, this ending is my favorite of the series, the guitar intro, the song in general is great and the visuals are simple stills from the characters, it will definitely hint some things, but I would think this intro stands between "picking my interest" and "I had my suspicions and this confirms some things for me" in the spoiler territory, in NO WAY does it ruin any part of the experience and for some in fact, like me, it just got me hyped, like I am not dumb enough to not see how certain things seem to be developing nor am I prescient to see how things will absolutely develop ultimately, either way you will be able to watch it without any worries in like 10 episodes.

Giancarlo Martinez

After 102 actually :)

Gon Freecs

The outro spoils less than the intro, it is fine. Please watch it, it is the best outro ever.

Billy Overlord

we need to rebel and get them to watch the outro

Billy Overlord

well i'm guessing because it's only for 3 episodes but the intro is gonna be 60+ episodes long lol

Veya

Nooo how have they convinced you to not watch this ending, and yet you were not convinced to skip the intro for this arc?? Lol oh well, guess I'll have to wait. The ending is pretty much good to watch after episode 103!

Harfie
