As I'm sure you'll quickly learn from these comments Neferpitou is generally referred to as Pitou, both by the community and at some point the show. All 3 royal guards you meet have longer names, but they also all have Nicknames used in the show to make it user.

Also, the manga is a bit more explicit with the Pokkle scene. In the manga he has the top of the head completely open and when Pitou gets out of the scene you see him getting chopped by the pig chef. Pretty brutal.

You are misremembering. Never was specified if Neon could use nen since birth (very unlikely, I'd go as far and say impossible). It is heavily implied that Neon developed her nen over time, while by herself instead of training, not since birth because she tells Chrollo about this fortune teller she watched as a kid and her being the reason Neon herself wanted to become a fortune teller. Pitou is the only confirmed special case like this so far which is often criticized as a plothole. But I think you could explain it as like she has nen because of the many humans' combined life force/aura that went into her creation. So maybe all the little bits of aura everyone has merged into hers.

Fun fact: Neferpitou is only considedes a girl in this adaptation, as they gave them more wide hips and a bust to appear "more feminine" but in the manga they're kinda genderless.

The royal guards are my favorite thing about this arc. But personally I don’t like Pitou at all but she has a cool character design & the show does a perfect job showing you power scale.

Memories doesn’t just come from humans past lives. Not every chimera that has human intelligence has a human past life. Like the frog the previous episode I think he remembered his frog self being eaten probably in the beginning of the arc.

Some human beings are just born with nen. Remember Neon Nostrade, the fortune-telling girl? She was born with her ability. It's rare, but some special folks are simply born with nen & abilities.

If we're talking about Nen strength. Remember, when Gon did water divination, the glass broke and water went everywhere. Granted Gon was training for weeks for that and Rammot was only able to expand the water by a bit. His nen was drawn to be super powerful but we can see that his hatsu isn't that refined yet because of the low volume of water coming from the cup. As for Neferpitou. Well, you two told us you watched 4 episodes so you might already know what she's capable of.

I don't think there's an official reason why the Royal Guard was born with Nen. My hypothesis is it's the way Phagogenesis works. All humans are capable of nen. I think that the queen was able to harness the genes of potential nen users even if they weren't able to awaken their nen before getting eaten. This is just a rough speculation on my part. Maybe other people have better answers.

To answer your guys question about other shounen, no, no they are not, Hunter x Hunter is just built different. Ten episodes ago we were listening to the boys talk about how killing people just because you hate them is wrong, and now we're watching our friendly neighbourhood archer being lobotomised. On why they have nen Lola is right on both counts probably. We know other hunting parties went to NGL and got captured/eaten, so the queen has likely been fed "rare humans" already. That being said, everyone has some level of aura however faint, so the sheer quantity of humans likely contributed to her insane aura.

Pitou's Nen is so fucking scary and strong that Rammot immediatelly had his will crushed to pieces when he sensed it. The scene of him feeling a giant paw above his head is a great display of the gap between them in terms of strentgh and nen. Dude, what a fucking show.

It was either really lucky or unlucky for Pokkle that Pituo’s that efficient. Born and immediately draws information from every source it can. Human medical knowledge is a cornerstone of civilization and she immediately drew from it. That’s a complete bonkers rate of learning. Hagya was right. Animals really do learn fast in the wild (comparatively to humans). It makes me personally wonder what knowledge is genetic and what’s not.

I hope you'll end up loving Neferpitou as much as I do. All of the Royal Guards are great characters though, look forward to them. Neferpitou's gender is a bit of a weird topic, as mixed pronouns have been used for them and their appearance (and voice) is obviously feminine in nature, I default to they/them but I'm not sure there's a definitive answer.

“A short and foolish dream…” always love that the instant Neferpitou is born, Rammots delusions of grandeur fall apart, and not only does he give up on them, he instantly is a more loyal and subservient ant than he ever was before. A great way to display the chasm of difference between the ants we know and a Royal Guard, along with the more obvious visual of the weight of her hand on his head.
