Violet Evergarden Episode 6 Full Reaction

Violet Evergarden Episode 6 Full Reaction

Comments

I will say that while I do love Gabi (she's actually one of my favorite characters) I do dislike certain things about the ending quite a bit ngl. I found it to be incredibly disappointing, not gonna say why obviously. But I also do think a lot of the worst fans have a lot of bad reasons for not liking it, and I also think the haters of the finale are over the top in general. I certainly don't think it's terrible or anything and has some really compelling stuff. I found myself liking it less the more I discussed it with my partner after we watched, but it still did result in a very good discussion, and I enjoyed a lot of it. And if nothing else, the animation, music, and voice acting is as top tier as ever.

Thanks man, appreciate it

Hey bro I believe they said they're watching it tomorrow which I believe implies that the reaction/discussion is gonna either drop tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Personally I'm just glad it'll drop this week unlike last time lol

Sebastiano Barreca

Have they talked about when their AOT reaction is gonna drop? Sorry if this has been answered already, but I haven't been able to check the comments lately (I'm a bit drunk rn ngl)

HenryM

Yes, everyone is looking foward to LM's reaction to AoT xD

Camelot B

You mean Beren: Attack on Titan Next Generations? :D

I've told this anecdote before. Last December I caved and read the ending to the entire story to the manga on wikipedia purely because I heard there was a furious backlash from the fandom and, still reeling from the disappointment of Game Of Thrones several years prior, I caved and read the ending. And I'm furious not only because do I think the ending to AOT to be absolutely beautiful and well done, but moreso because the creator of the series did NOT deserve ANY hate, at all. I can see why some would consider it flawed but one particular criticism which I saw over and over again takes me back to the days of Lost. Infuriating. Anyways, the girls will love it. And years from now I'll be able to re-watch the whole series with fresh eyes and love it all.

Everybody is talking about SNK in a Violet video but same lol I think the girls are one or even the best reactors on YouTube because of their realness and how they understand every detail of the story! AAAA IM HYPED

"One last time" That is until we get the Attack On Titan The Final Part Conclusion Arc 2 Part 7 that will be out in five years time released in 15 minute segments and performed entirely on ice.

TeaDrinker3000

the ending was amazing i think the girls will be able to understand everything and will like it

PS. Loonking forward for the GOATED timed comment from Robert for one last time for AOT. Thank you.

Dont worry robert. Having followed Lola and Milena for more than 3 years, and watched their AOT reactions numerous times, i think its safe to say they will love the finale and not be disappointed. Also they are very smart, more than people give them credit for. I am sure LM and Im ( filmbuff ) will deliver the best reactions and post analysis of AOT.

You're probably right. I think that as a longtime fan, I just get too caught up in worrying that Attack on Titan will disappoint them in the end. I'll probably still write the longest commentary in history under their reaction to tie up loose ends for many, because all these "ending explained" videos just disappoint me, and I really don't want fans to dismiss the ending because of incomprehensibility.

Robert H.

Bro, honestly it's fine lol. I think they will really love the ending and won't let small nuances overshadow the overarching narrative of the story. I feel like the determinant of whether or not you'd enjoy the ending is whether you like Gabi or not. Not saying the ending revolves around her, just saying that's the type of person you'd be. Also, I'd imagine pausing, discussing, etc, instead of just watching with temporary confusion is more frustrating. And, as Lola iconically said in one of their aot reviews, the story "is not chadness, it is just sadness".

I get what you’re saying but I also think things will be just fine if they watch it as we all did: in one uninterrupted sitting. That’s how it was broadcast and meant to be watched after all. I think if they do what they did for the finale of Better Call Saul, that will be perfect. They watched the full 70 minutes (albeit mostly through tears) and took a break to think, take some notes and then do the discussion. It made for one of their best reviews imo

Darrach

Completely agree! I'm still surprised they didn't decide to add these to extend the special from 85 minutes to almost 90 minutes. The OP is not spoilerish either.

I have an idea: How would it be if they would pause after each episode / chapter / 30 minutes and start discussing at that point? This could help to discuss chapters 134-136, chapters 137-138 and chapter 139 separately. Qualitatively they are very different and there is a lot to discuss in each section. Cause I've watched a few Reactions and everyone who tries to think and not just shout at the action has a hard time following and making sense of what's going on. The heavily criticized, sometimes confusing and contradictory dialogue in the last third doesn't make it any easier. As a manga reader, you always had 4 weeks after each chapter and there were many theories about how and why something might have happened due to the discussion with others, but in the anime everything seems overwhelming. Also, many questions are not answered or their answers are not explained. It feels like you have to be prepared to deduce the history of Marley with only the after-credit scene of Grisha and his sister Fay and the clues in the seasons before. (Which also made the ending very controversial, because every faction found a better explanation for itself.) What they could theoretically also do is perhaps publish a second discussion video? I just don't know. I feel like the anime, like the manga, leaves you with a puzzle with only 50% of the pieces and spinning meaningful explanations out of it for all the unanswered questions is alone an impossible task. What also bothers me: I've also seen explanation videos for the finale today on YouTube and sometimes these fan theories are simply listed as the only true ones, some of which are also contradictory to previously determined facts. If somebody tries to explain something in the ending, they should name several theories that fit if the anime leaves it open.
